I only mention them here. I love the thrill of the hunt, but I don't think most people care to hear stories about shopping. I also think the clothes should speak for themselves. Who cares what they are or what a deal they were if they're not pleasing? It took me a long time to really learn that.

It's tough to say without seeing photos, knowing the time period they were made, if they were MTM or OTR, etc. I'm no expert, but I threw out some rough numbers that I've seen. Also, along the same lines, when you wear your high quality thrift store finds, do you tell people the deal you got, or let them thing you paid full price? If someone inquires, I just tell them that I couldn't pass it up at the price it was at. The only people I tell are my fiance (who usually couldn't care less) and you guys on this thread.
Nice finds. See the bolded parts of the quote above for my responses to your questions.

In general, how big are places like The Salvation Army and Goodwill? I passed by a Salvation Army today, but I think I must have been near the back of the store, so I didn't go in. What's the set up like?

Here is the Paul Smith Blazer I am offering.

It is a super slim 42L.

I am a 42R and this is more like a 40L
Made in Italy
Awesome fabric

No shoulder padding, very very lean look.
Horn Buttons, pick stitching.
Tasteful, yet insane interior
Here ya go.

It is NWOT no flaws.

What's the word on Hart Schaffner and Marx? I've seen a few sportcoats and some suits the last few times I've been thrifting, but I've always passed them over. Should I run back to the thrift store, or are these just run of the mill?

Does it say "Golden Trumpet," or should I look for a golden trumpet logo?

I picked a HSM suit up after I first started my job (early '08) for $10. Wore it about a year, then sold it on E-Bay a couple weeks ago for for just under $20. I was in nice shape when I bought it and had it cleaned before I sold it and it was still in very good condition. Did better on that suit then I did my 410K

It's been forever since I found anything worth mentioning. Then this week has been great:

1) Oxxford Glen Plaid (POW) suit - $25
2) Huntsman (RTW by Cantarelli) sportcoat -$7.50
3) Jil Sander casual jacket -$4
4) Very nice 'Made in England' bespoke navy 1-button sport coat with MOP button(s) (no other tags, but fine quality with lots of handwork) - $4
5) a couple Hamilton shirts - $10
6) PRL herringbone jacket - $10
7) Incotex pants (wool, Italy) - $10
8) Bergdorf Goodman housebrand pants - $5
9) pair of old school wooden shoe trees - $5
10) Sample set of 5 x .5 oz. Ralph Lauren colognes (Polo, Romance, Black, Sport, Blue) - $15
11) 3 sleeves of Titlest Pro V1x golfballs - $3 (arguably the best score)

So at my thrift today there was:
2 100% cashmere Pal Zilari Sartoriale blazers
8 Zegna soft blazers.

All the tags had been tampered with so non could be purchased
