I only mention them here. I love the thrill of the hunt, but I don't think most people care to hear stories about shopping. I also think the clothes should speak for themselves. Who cares what they are or what a deal they were if they're not pleasing? It took me a long time to really learn that.

What's the word on Hart Schaffner and Marx? I've seen a few sportcoats and some suits the last few times I've been thrifting, but I've always passed them over. Should I run back to the thrift store, or are these just run of the mill?

i'm from the chicago burbs...i know you bought all of the suits, but i'm curious which SA you went to, because the 2 that i've been to have been pretty bad....which did you go to?

golden trumpet (i think thats it) are worth it, everything else is meh.

^^ It'll say Gold Trumpeter right on the tag under "Hart, Schaffner and Marx". If these are somewhat desirable, maybe I'll pick up the two I keep passing up at the thrift. Didn't think any HSF stuff was worth grabbing.

I picked a HSM suit up after I first started my job (early '08) for $10. Wore it about a year, then sold it on E-Bay a couple weeks ago for for just under $20. I was in nice shape when I bought it and had it cleaned before I sold it and it was still in very good condition. Did better on that suit then I did my 410K
