Band of Outsiders Blazer

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

One of the Oxxfords I mentioned today. I don't like picking them up because I can't differentiate between outdated and not, but half off day is a good day to try new things.

For Wes, HF Tweed.

100% Vicuna by Corsair. No idea on this company at all. Mint condition beside that tag.

Harris Tweed for Lands End. Mostly for Wes

Belvest Suit Silk/Wool

Loden Coat mentioned earlier. I love this thing. Texas needs to get cold so I can wear it.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Dunhill, Dunhill, Dunhill, Hermes, Hermes, Coach.

Could anyone verify the Hermes and Coach are real? The Red/Blue one has a mis-aligned tip, but it has the loop in it. I figured it was a bad re-stitch job or something.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Found a whole bunch of other things. A lot of things that aren't worth posting I think.

I'm an idiot and bought the quintessential fake prl cashmere sweater today. Where do I exchange it for a legit one?

Seriously though, do I trash it or wear it on laundry day? It seems nice enough aside from the counterfeit part.

I had a fake prl cashmere sweater from my early thrifting days, wore the hell out of it then re-donated it eventually. Also, thanks for all the positive comments dudes! I wish I had a shirt with less of a wimpy collar, but I don't.

I'd keep it.  I've got fake Burberry, fake PRL and fake Versace shirts that I wear to cut the lawn etc...plus an ink-stained Barbour and a paint-spattered Brioni (reals) that I also wear when doing manual labor.

However, if you don't want it, I'd suggest the former - trashing it - instead of redonating it.  Boo hiss on keeping it in circulation.   Or make a cat bed out of it...if you have a cat.

When I picture you doing manual labor, it's in full mmm smile.gif also in hindsight, I probably should have just trashed that sweater but I'm guessing most people wouldn't know the difference anyway.

Catching up after a couple days. Been pretty hectic these past couple days and doing a TON of thrifting. Details to come.

Disclaimer: Due to the extreme costs of checking extra luggage + shipping from Austria, I'm not really able to make anything available at anywhere near an attractive price. Really sorry about that, as I wanted to post things while I was still in the US. Please hold back on PMs if there is actually anything here for which you have interest.

I'll start with one of my favorite finds. I bent down to tie my shoe and recognized the pattern from a little ways away, even though is was wadded up in the bottom of the basket. Check out that price tag biggrin.gif

Burberry trench...can anyone authenticate? I'm terrible with Burberry, but the details matched I thought. The things throwing me off are the striped lining and the lack of a country of manufacture.

Oxxford trousers. Possible reverse orphan, but they fit and I thought the color would be fine without the jacket.

I think it was Nat that found something like this a few months ago. I was flipping through the racks and stopped on this. Though it was without tags, it felt nice. A closer look at the buttons gave it away.

Incredible haul Hans! That Isaia is gorgeous! Score on that and the Hermes. Those Oxxfords are regular trousers, IMO. As far as I know, Oxxford trousers with an actual label on the waistband are actual trousers and not part of a suit.

Keep at it and keep checking other stores. You're doing it wrong if you're in Houston and only finding Haggar and Mossimo. A couple members who used to live in Houston were always be scoring big. Finding hauls that were on par with the LA guys.

old shirt. Then I spent time considering the condition of the clothing item. Then color and style.
Last, I balance the price of the thrift item with it's value.

I noticed that this string of logic rumbles through my mind as I look at clothing to purchase.

I still get that slight rush of adreniline when this criteria all comes together. Also, it's exciting when
you walk toward the thrift store entrance in hopeful anticipation.

It's Fun!

Nataku!!!

Had some time to kill so was flipping through ladies light jackets. This was in a small vein of denim. What have I got here? It's vintage. It's denim. It's lined with a corduroy collar. So far sounds like a solid PRL "inspired by" piece. There are no tags except for a UGWA post-1931 tag with Duck Goods on it, located inside front side pocket. Buttons are rusted but jacket is in mint shape. Weird pocket on left breast. Two button holes at one position on the chest. Red stitching at certain corners. It's beautiful!

Heavy wool love child of a menage a trois between a shacket, a mackinaw and a pullover, with leather lacing at throat and cuffs. Zip vent on the side too.

Ooooh wow. Wow! That denim jacket is pure drool.gif. Such a cool piece with cool details. This is exactly what companies like Rising Sun, Mister Freedom and Heller's Cafe design their pieces after! I can see an easy $200+ on the bay if marketed right.

That pullover is cool too. Definitely mid-late 60's. Love the lace-up collar.

Hah! After my lawn boy got run over by an Army truck I'm back to doing my own yard work. Good clean fun, an easy 4 hours every Saturday and I totally need the exercise. Plus keeps me outta the thrifts during my self-imposed hiatus until late Oct.

I'm with ATLnoob. Keep it and wear with pleasure. I mow the yard in a Zegna t shirt that is real but before I realized it was $150 retail. I bought it before I knew labels and was purchased simply cause it looked cool. Got it for a few bucks, is comfy and still looks good. Why would you trash anything that you like and if it fits. No one on the street would know the difference anyhow.

Cool day for me as far as shirts. Not as brag worthy as previous posts but after a bad week this is good ebay fodder for 1/2 the shirts and the other half fit

As a quick aside, there was an article about vicuna in the WSJ about a week ago. Sounds like getting a vicuna overcoat made for you these days will run you in the six figures:
