Right back atcha. A little slimming work at the tailor and I'll finally have a decent selection of staple suits and sport coats.

This is very random as my son would say. You should really use the quoting feature so people will understand what you are talking about. Otherwise I just assuming you are drunk posting or have a special version of tourette syndrome that only happens while typing.

Why dont we start a thrift thread scavenger hunt? Could be fun to add some interest to the slim picking late summer months, no?

Anyone else game or am I just bored.

I was actually rooting for the drunk posting, that would certainly liven up this thread. Last time we had a drunk posting it was Spoo proposing his Thrift Scavenger Hunt.

I'm home after a total of 26 hours of thrifting this weekend.  I have no idea where to begin.....and absolutely zero room to put any of the stuff.

I may have found a little something...  Was going through my dozens (and dozens) of thrifted paintings / pastels / watercolors etc - I pick up truly bad shit for what will eventually be my Gallery of Questionable Art (velvet paintings, vintage paint-by-numbers, poorly proportioned amateur art etc)...and also pick up stuff that just strikes my fancy.

Gave this one a second look - I picked it up some months ago, signed jean rigaux 77:

...then browsed the internet as the signature looked too nice to be some everyday crap.  Turns out there is an art school in Belgium that bears his name, and this dealer sells "boring" (in my opinion) original works at close to $1k each.  Downside is I don't really see a market for his work - a few auction records but not being a subscriber I can't find hammer prices, and doubt anyone in the US cares.  He also painted in just about every style - more classical-looking stuff priced at $9k and up, but his surrealistic stuff I have no clue.

Dropped an email to the contact at the art school asking what, if anything, they know about the painting I have.

Got it at Goodwill, and got change back from the fiver i paid with.

Well, throw out some sizes and we'll try to help reduce your inventory. Seriously, congrats. Sounds like you and Brian had an epic day..

Damn, son that's some serious haulage, and knowing you it's gonna be some good stuff.

I expect photos of everything in 2 hours or less.
