Picked up a weird unstructured casual sport coat with this Canali label. Never seen this Canali label before, is it real? The jacket is 3 button, with patch pockets, Polyester shell. Cotton blend 1/2 lining.

I've seen that label on Canali dress shirts before, so I would assume its real but a bit old. Sounds odd though... polyester outerwear in the style of a sportcoat?

I thought it was strange too, although it is definitely on the casual side. Almost like a warm-up suit but with a dressy flare. I didn't know the word polyester was even in Canali's vocabulary. I will post pics tonight.

The terrible stitching, content tag I've never seen, and polyester content reek of fake to me. I'd be shocked if that turns out to be real.

Hi ya.
Long time lurker on SF but have only recently come over here to where the men are and the adrenaline flows.
Took my son 2 weeks ago to the nearby GW to get some grad clothes (grade 6 grad, so why spend serious money?). I took a few minutes to browse the racks and had some luck.
BTW, I'm in a northern city here. Not at all cosmopolitan but a lot of money from oil so people travel and consume conspicuously. Hopefully that continues to lead to some good stuff in the shops but I'm sure I'll never be hauling in the the Italian suits.
First up, a standard issue genuine HT by St. Michaels for Mark & Spencers. Some nice colours going on there that the camera doesn't do justice to.

Hey, nice tie. Also nice to see other Canadians in the thread.

Yeah, and there's one for $36. I guess I spoke too soon.

I've had such a hard time finding quality jazz records at thrifts -- maybe I should go back to looking at record stores.

If you ever come across this, I will send you a lot of money.

check out discogs; I've picked up some decent stuff in great condition at reasonable prices. They're not thrift store prices, but are very reasonable. I've spent way too much time looking through the records at thrift stores and came up empty to even bother anymore.

I can highly recommend Records By Mail / Craig Moerer in Portland OR. Great guy, huge selection, everything strictly graded. Another decent online place for vinyl is gemm, though some of the sellers don't grade using Goldmine or Record Collector standards, nor provide pertinent details.
