Have you never stolen anything and tried to get the security tag off only to have it hiss and pop in a spray of ink and ruin your entire haul?  I do it all the time but learned you need to freeze the item and ink inside the tag, before removing it.

But really: hush, troll, until you can explain how you managed to "stumble across a man throwing away two neckties" - a Brioni and a Feberge..and how you cannot decide whether you currently own Brioni neck ties, or have previously owned Brioni neck ties.

NWT Gitman Bros. Vintage.

NWT GANT The Rugger cotton pants.

nice finds! I had some time today but skipped out because I thought after the long weekend, the shops would have been pretty picked over. I proceeded to waste the time by going to check out the new Marshalls; hoping it would yield something good, but it's ass...their top suits being Nautica giving you an idea...

one 4 lamp and one 2 lamp fixture for a total of 6 lamps. all bulbs are 6500K daylight.

I tried both a white background (these) and a neutral gray #8 background (Wes's system).

These are straight out of the camera, cropped and resized for posting.

will dink with white balance and aperture later tonight.

can you post a link to the lamps you use? I'm looking for something currently

I knew I said have stayed home today, stores were crazy...just walked out of a couple because on the slim chance I found something, I was waiting in a line of 40 people.

Nothing really brag worthy today, 5-6 shirts that will pay for gas

PRL Made in USA Brown Loafers, cleaned up nice

And the find of the day, Brooks Brothers, recent Spring of 2011 solid gray staple suit, worn probably once...in a Boy's size 16

I am not a troll. And yes, I did meet a man throwing away two ties last year and I don't want to get bedbugs from it. We were both coming off of the train and and the person threw out the days newspaper and two crumpled up ties..one of which was a Brioni. It's hardly that complicated. I don't remember the part about not being sure whether I own Brioni ties, as I have multiple--all purchased from NMLC.

Thanks! Couldn't believe my luck. And that's not good news about Marshall's.

Been very VERY slow coming up with anything lately thrifting, until the other day...

At this point tears of joy were already forming when I picked up the  exact next suit on the rack solely to find this:

Basically in shock, considering how slow it has been lately.  They both measure to be roughly 42 regular jackets, with 35x30 bottoms. Both in gorgeous condition, and I suppose I will be selling each one.

had to quote that to remind myself not to do those things as well.

OK man sorry was just funning with you.  I used to live in Chicago and that happened a lot when I got off the train - sometimes it was a guy throwing away 2 ties and 1 newspaper, sometimes only 1 tie with 2 newspapers...once it was 3 ties and no newspaper and they were all Hermes.  Bummer when it was a guy tossing 3 newspapers and no ties - but hey - you can't win them all.

I've clearly got to move to Chicago - guys only throw away Staffords with their newspapers here.

Back home from a little Family vaca in Frisco.  I'll be honest, I didn't get to thrift in the city nearly as much as I wanted to.  Its very hard with a 16 month old baby to get much of anything done besides miles and miles of walking around the Union Square shopping at retail.

One place I made it to was Buffalo Exchange in the mission district.  I did not walk out with any purchase, mainly because of the small MC section, and me not being too familiar with SWD brands.  I would have loved to ravish up SF a bit more, running into a few local GWs but time and convenience was against me.
Below are a few finds I did pick up on the vaca, and are relevant because heck, they were all purchased with eBay thrifting fodder peepwall[1].gif I had set aside for the trip.

The new location of Marshals in Union Square proved to be a great change of pace for me, below are the deets, and I feel pretty good about 1 of them pick ups.

On to the personal purchase pics!

The Brooks Brothers Store in Union Square is really a place to stop into if you ever are in the area.  It is 3 stories full of more goodies than one needs.
Top floor houses the Gentleman's Lounge, where I was catered to and greeted with a nice cold bottled beer water at their bar.  This was the prelude to a game of billiards on their beautifully crafted BB Billiards table. On to the purchases

BB Unlined All season SC

BB Shadow Plaid Unlined SC

BB Irish Linen Navy Blue Suit

BB Shirts

Only Top one is OCBD Weekend Shirt

Botton 2 are my work horse shirts

BB Travel Tie Case

BB White Cotton Trousers

2 Summer Cotton Ties

J Crew Cotton Trousers

x2 Polos

The Awesomeness of out of town Marshals, never fails to put out! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Ike Behar, I liked the fall colors and thick silk

BB (no flaws to note) thick woven silk in a blue/black color

Isaia 7 Fold!!

icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Nice Pantherella Fall color boots socks for myself!

Had a Great time, in the city.  Thank you to a few members who gave me some thrift spots in which are saved and printed ready to hit up next time I fly solo to Frisco!

From the looks of the rest of this thread, many more members had an awesome thrify holiday weekend! cheers.gif
