My first Savile Row piece. Sadly way to big for me.

Also a sweet Hickey Freeman made in Italy corduroy jacket in my size.

Never heard of the brand, but great functionality.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

the rear has a place to put a rolled up sleeping bag

Super flannel USA made LL Bean

Is this raw silk? Picked it up cheap with the hopes of doing something with the fabric and buttons. 2nd thought I really hated to mess up something older than me.

Hey guys,
Great finds as usual. I'm not gonna be posting my finds here anymore. It's not like I've been banned Frenchy-style or anything. Or, that people are always asking, "How much can I get for this on ebay?". Although, that is kinda irritating.

I've just had a lot of technical difficulties with this site. It's always crashing. Either when I'm reading or trying to post. I keep getting "Styleforum.net is not responding". I've tried using firefox but to post there you have to go to html tags and stuff. Very difficult. I much prefer IE.

I think I'm gonna start a blog or tumbler deal like Eazy and some of you guys. Please recommend a good site that is trouble free and easy to work with. Just uploading pix and a few words. I'll still keep lurking, though. Keep at it.

Got this for $1.99 at the Goodwill store down the street from me today. Too bad I'm not still a college student or it would have been $1.80. Oh well. Two small pulls on the front, but what Charvet tie doesn't have that issue?

Got this message from an Ebay buyer regarding one of the hermes tie. Can anyone verify on the thread loop fact? Thanks

"Hi Schoolyard I recently discovered that this hermes tie does not have the 1/2-1 inch thread loop at the back behind the tie. As you may know, this is a potential sign that the tie is fake. I am inclined to believe that you are unaware of this fact. If you are unaware, let me know how we should proceed from here. cheers PH""

Welp, picked this up. It's really nice - Super 120s, dual vented 3 roll 2 surgeon cuffs, pick stitching everywhere - tagged a 52 and would probably fit a slim 42, up for trade if someone wants it.

Today overall was a "love of the game" day which reminded me of why I love thrifting. No Kiton or Cucinelli, but so much random cool shit.

First off a pair of Donegal tweed scarfs - I've been wanting something similar for ages and here they were...

Brooks Brothers Scotland Scarf

Black Steward Lambswool Scottish Made Scarf

And then this OUTRAGEOUS 70% mohair/30% wool scarf (more like a throw really). Scottish made for a shop in ... Bermuda??

Hermes tie to help finance the whole trip (all the more satisfying considering this shop once had a rag-worthy Hermes shirt marked at $50!!)

And then this...my wife and I are planning a trip to Iceland next year and have been joking about having to pick up lopapeysas before we go, and then she found this for me today in the ladies section! Will fit great over a heattech and under my new Barbour from GMMcL!

NATAKU (we need a Nat signal) - is this anything. It's down, and made in Canda so figured it was worth picking up?)

Old school - Made in Scotland - Hunter Wellies for me

Some Ferragamo Suede Captoes - pretty much unworn.

Oh and then this personal grail - Halliburton Zero aluminum case. Beat to hell, but so cheap I couldn't resist. Will hit it with goo-gone tonight to get the stickers and whatnot off. Also, it was locked so I had to figured out the combo on the train on the way home (606 counting up from zero...). The security guard at the GW was this old Russian dude who was really into the case but said he wasn't allowed to buy it since he was an employee - he was giving me all sorts of advice on how to pick the lock and all, and then when I was checking out he came up and said "I wish you good luck." Pretty sweet find, makes me feel like James Bond!!

Robert Talbott BOC ties, and Kiton

I know I'm going to break down soon and buy for trade eventually.

Given that the photos included shots with a ruler to show the tie's width, I assumed you were selling most of this stuff. Having said that, the process seems even more pointless given that you're doing all of that just to post them here - but to each their own. I enjoy seeing the pics since they're so well done - just seems like a lot of effort for nothing.

Found these. 2 pieces of a killer 3 piece PRL Corneliani tweed. baldy[1].gif

Here is my dilemma: nwt, so I could probably do very well. But the styling is great and, despite being tagged 40L, it fits me. decisions.gif So yeah, likely I plan to keep and rock the ever loving hell out of each of these, come fall. Oh yeah, working cuffs too.

Also found this vintage PRL USA piece:

Easily one of my favorite items posted in this thread (too bad it didn't have pants) - PRL has some truly timeless pieces in their collection.

Here are a few from today (n/a):

Alden in great shape
AppleMark

Allen Edmonds Loafers

Mmm Zero Halliburton.

I remember a few years ago walking in to an electronics component shop in Orange County, the type of shop that has all sorts of tools/odds and ends that they find a few of and sell off. Anyway, in the section where they have tool boxes, they had a stack of brand new, light yellow painted Halliburtons in a small tool box shape (overrun made for some nearby company). I think they were $20 a piece or something ridiculous like that. I passed, only to go back and of course find they were long gone. baldy[1].gif

And just like that, the search for the perfect waxed cotton jacket ends.

Edit: This was not a thrift store find, I scooped this off the SW&D B&S for a song, completely paid for with thrift funds. Fuck I love this hobby!

That Petronius is gold.  You will have no problem selling it.  Or, it will be a nice addition to your collection.
