Hans and I taught Harrisburg a lesson today. Totally awesome dude. Here I thought he was Austrian this whole time. lol.

Highlights of the day....
  • I found a Hermes sheep tie, Hans found a NWT Skeet Blanket a few seconds later. We traded straight up.
  • We listened as disgruntled S.A. employees repeatedly reprimanded parents, over the P.A. system for letting their children run amok in the store. It was pretty hilarious.
  • We went to Chic-fil-a and got Hans the large quantities of Chic-fil-a sauce.
  • I actually finished this sentence as it came out of Hans' mouth. "I was hoping I would get to witness you finding some..." Me interrupting "Hey look I found some Shell Cordovans"

Had an awesome time, glad you could make it Hans!
ffffuuuu.gif Sometimes, I REALLY hate being a responsible person and wish I could do the things I WANT to do instead of the things I HAVE to do. Glad you guys had a good time.

Oh well. To paraphrase Leeroy Jenkins, "At least you have Chik-Fil-A!"

Brooks Brothers Blue Stripe Shirt - $4.35
Nice staple pattern - I'll be using this as my necktie shirt for modeling. Alteration: waist taken in.

Hart Schaffner Marx Shirt - $5.50
A bit wrinkled, hadn't ironed it yet. I like the pink windowpane check pattern. Alteration: waist taken in.

Corneliani Shirt - $6.00
Fractional neck size 15 3/4 but fits my 16 inch neck. Alteration: waist taken in.

Orvis Shirt - $4.35
The nicest, softest cotton of the bunch, but shoulders are too big (see how they droop over my shoulders, but not horribly). Hadn't noticed it before buying. Alteration: waist taken in.

Brooks Brothers Makers Red Floral Necktie - $1.00
A bit wide, but very nice eye-popping red tie that will go with a lot of shirts.

Vineyard Vines Custom Collection Vanguard Necktie - $1.99
Nice sailing theme.

This dude got some pics going on. Whether or not the finds are "brag worthy" or not, I really like the photos and the way they are set up. Kudos to a newbie from a newbie!

I can't even imagine how much time it takes to do these.... totally not worth it IMO if you are selling ties. Spoo, how long does it take you to tie a tie again? 2.762 seconds??

GOOD LUCK... musicboohoo[1].gifCorneliani sells like crap for whatever reason. Would 100% pass on that pinstripe and the check would need to be under $10

Much better! But lesson #2: don't out another man's store. Actually this should be lesson #1. Hit that little pencil button and edit your post to remove. Isaidgoodday.

Sorry for the double. I will second that EXCEPT to say that corneliani is high quality stuff, and certainly fits me well, anyway. I will pick up nice stuff every day of the week and twice on Sunday, if for no other reason than to trade here. Stuff that good needs a good home.

Thanks, brah! Dude, actually a member and his wife, from overseas are visiting us in about 2 months! They are getting the master bedroom. If you visit CA, you are welcome to stay with us! Just don't eat us out of the home and stuff...lol

The buckets are a 4 pots hydroponic system for growing tomatoes...No, I'm serous! We got it from the mother in law. I guess, you can call it thrift prices! nod[1].gif

A quick recap of my time since arriving. I arrived on Sunday but was stuck in Canada for longer than planned due to a missed connection. I arrive late in NYC only to find that none my bank cards worked. Utilizing the one working credit card, I have been on the phone with banks, help lines, and my wife all in Austria, I still have no answers. I was finally able to get some money sent from Austria here. I picked up my car in Jersey with the intent of enjoying the afternoon at outlets north of NYC. The rental place, however, was out of GPS units. Great, I'll wing it. After driving through NYC with little clue as to where exactly I was going, I arrived at the outlets...ten minutes before they closed. Found a hotel and called it quits.

Then I had the pleasure of meeting up with Wes. He's a great guy and was kind enough to spend the day showing me some of his spots. He's far more efficient going through the stores and had a car filled. He covered the highlights well and I'm thrilled with the tie I got in the swap. You're always welcome in Austria!

Oh, to be fair, I do hold an Austrian passport, I just happen to hold an American one as well biggrin.gif

Too bad you couldn't make it, we'll plan another one sometime!

^^ Oh, and all of that bitching about the start of my trip was just to say that Wes helped turn it around. Definitely needed that break!

Haha, we have an extra room as well, but it's taken up by piles of stuff I need to process!

One of these days, we South Bay peeps need to get together and raid the thrift shops.
