This first one is a merlot-coloured satin and the second has beautiful amber snaps.

What brand is this? Looks like a Scully

Raiding in Brianpore's territory, I always do well in the shoe department there. Maybe I am just more optimistic than Brian and can see the potential betterrevolve.gif.

I kid I kid, I met up with him for a few minutes and hope to some day actually go thrifting with him. I need a buddy in some of the shady areas he directed me fing02[1].gif.

Everything is available for trade.

AE Walton's (These need a lot of Optimism) 9D

Park Avenue 8.5 D Has small chip on toe, little wear.

J Crew for me 36 x 34, but than my wife said they are to loose in the legs and rear.

Brooks Brothers 40x??

Vineyard Vines flat front chinos 36x32

3 BB shirts for me, I realized I don't own a single white shirt but 7 lt blue ones. The center one is linen with pinnable arms? How do you call it where you roll the sleeve up and there is a button above the elbow? All large or 16.5/35

Paul Stuart x 2 both large (The blue corduroy in NWT)

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I had heard people picking up Ascot Chang before so the name pinged (Not labeled but about a 17-18/35)

Odd linen jacket something I could picture David Carradine wearing in Kung Fu 100% Linen fits me at a 44R so I am guessing size is L. Not sure of a brand name, it says "Cloth Selected by Ermenegildo Zegna"

EZ 46/18

Sulka

Not a Scully, though I have seen/sold them. This is by a company called Caravan out of Calgary.

Work has been slow this week, so I took today off and did a little cruising. thrift stores, you perverts.

in the flipping category:

couple pairs of ermenegildo zegna cords (haven't tried this before but figured it'd be worth a shot, they're in good shape and a good size);

a black samuelsohn dinner jacket / blazer that looks like it was worn all of once;

a DB peak-lapeled pleated and cuffed brown-and-blue-plaid joker of a canali suit that i had to pick up for $12, if only to learn the hard way what doesn't sell;

a NWT "club room" 100% cashmere sweater for cheap (in-store ebay completed sales review said i could expect to triple my investment irrespective of the fact that this is, as far as i can tell, the Georges of cashmere sweaters).

good day.

but the cake, and the icing, and the victory beers:

Today I learned about Cashgora... Canali overcoat style. (Click to show)

sorry... technical difficulties orienting pictures correctly for the board. will try to address for future posts.

Wow, great haul! That Marantz is a keeper too. I have the same model. Was given to me by a family friend who upgraded to a new Marantz. Looks to be missing the lid cover thing that goes over all the buttons on the front. Merely cosmetic, though.

Okay, here we go! Fishy went thrifting big time! A week of finds.

Looked for their shoes for like 2 hours, just in case they didn't come alone. No such luck, but I'm not one to deny a pair of mega-high-quality J.M. Weston beech shoe trees for a buck ninety. Any size 7s in the house?

News Guys! Like Somethingsfishy said above, always check the women's section. It netted me a black Trafalgar belt, along with this chili pepper surcingle AND this buttery soft caramel coloured Gloverall.

I've seen a few people pick up Aquascutum Aqua 5 overcoats so I thought I'd give one a try. This is a navy mac.

Orvis lambswool (pressed wool) cross between a zipped cardigan and a varsity jacket.

Silk blouse/caftan thing. It was cheap and I thought I'd take a chance. My daighters thought it was cool so I think I did alright.

I totally have one that looks like that one!

Oh yeah, those Balwins are pretty awesome!

IIRC, Gorge is a bastardization of the French "gorget" or "throat". It's the area in the black circle, NOT the red vee. Ideally, we like the 'notches' to point at the knot in one's tie rather than be too far above or below it.

Good info, thanks. So what was wrong with the gorge on the jacket I posted a photo of?

Found this amazing vintage Wilson bomber yesterday. Belted action back with removable fur collar. Feels just like the lamb fur on my Etro jacket and the oldest Wilson's label I've come across by far. This will replace a different bomber I found last year. The ribbing on the cuffs and hem are mint, which is rare in these old jackets and its got some great patina too. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
