Today is crocodile day!

Neiman Marcus croc loafers (11.5), Chruch's Moccasins (7F (I assume UK size), Mezlan croc loafers (7).

Ted Lapidus was a licensed brand sold in the USA in the 1980's like Lanvin or Izod. If the shirt was made in the USA or a 3rd world country it is probably one of these licensed garments. There were also ties and sport coats sold under this licensed brand. If the shirt was made in France or Italy it may be the real McCoy. If it was not then it is one of the garments made under license. They were often sold in US department stores.

People are keeping it quiet, so they can secretly purchase it from him via PM while keeping it under the radar.

Agreed. I read that post early in the morning and was shocked when it was unspoilered. Then I kept reading thinking there would be an endless stream of GIFs. I suppose I should have said something as well. shog[1].gif

+10000000000 to all the homies that offered advise on my upcoming NY trip as well, you guys are the best!!!!
+10000000000000000000000000000000000 on that Vicuna, I can't believe I missed that the first time around. facepalm.gif
Also, I picked up a very recent Max Mara made in Italy suit today for my wife.......... completely blown away! The thing is 100% handmade, blows all my shit out of the water. I'm actually a little envious. shog[1].gif
And Hans, I found a jacket today that might give your beaver fur collar coat a run for it's money. Pics later, I'm off to a job interview, trying to get my foot in the door of the menswear industry. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

A few weeks ago you may recall seeing the tremendous Alden Indy shell boots that Matty Long Legs picked up based on me seeing them in a thrift shop and passing along a tip.

[As an aside some wondered how I could just leave them there. The answer is (a) I knew they were nice but didn't know quite *how* nice until I got home and looked on ebay. My knowledge level isn't as high as it could be, (b) they weren't at your typical $10 or less thrift price, although they still were crazy cheap, (c) they didn't fit me so it would have to be a flip and (d) I'm really busy with work and don't do much or any selling anymore-- my day job pays much better than that].

So anyway, a few days ago a package arrives from Matty Long Legs. Didn't ask for it, he just decided to send something over. Cut to:

Sweet Ferragamo horsebit loafers, and a pair of (new) Pantherella socks.

And a cool Peter Blair tie made for my College.

And also a sweet Zegna tie that I'll have to thrift fit pic on a different occasion.

It was the least I can do. I'm glad the loafers fit. I wish I had more stuff in my closet that was your size.

boxing[1].gif Can't wait to see it! If it's your size, I should make a venture out that way during the winter so we can stroll around...Boardwalk Empire style.

Good luck on the interview!

Disregard my last post, apparently people came around and gave homie his due props on the dope ass vicuna overcoat.

Ok, this is something I've been wondering about... NWOB/NOS/deadstock Florsheims, i've run across both pair, and each time I think they wanted like $30, neither were shell. What do these normally bring in? I know someone one here mentioned that they were surprisingly valuable at one point, but couldn't find any comps on eBay last time I checked.

I was aware of none of these brands (except maybe AE) before I started following internet fora. And my purchases were driven more by word of mouth than by any advertising these vendors do. Its a new world of marketing out there.

Your telling my story.  When I started thrifting (for flipping mainly), I would constantly get high off my own supply and bring stuff upstairs.  I remember seeing a Christian Dior Monsieur suit for the first time in the GW and I must have looked like this when I grabbed it:

Tyrone Biggums Stealing

I recently cleaned out my closet and it was filled with PRL polos, Lacoste polos, CD Monsieur, etc.  My brand recognition game has definitely been upgraded.

Sweet Ferragamo's BTW.  That's a great story.

Either here or AAAC Trad forum you should easily double your money, or they make great trade bait.
