Shout-out to Larson McCord, this beautiful thing showed up today:
IMG_9225.jpg

I bought the shirt I'm wearing at a Nike store during the Beijing Olympics. Now that I'm essentially a celebrity, however, I will autograph it and trade you for something of similar value. Say, a Tom Ford suit? :smarmy:
I do still have a windbreaker from the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, though.
Will do. :)
Will PM you, too.
I went there a few times before and scored some great deals. But the day they were taping, prices were ridiculous.

Awesome, I'm glad it found a good home.

General concensus on the interweb purse forums (dont ask...) is that it was a fake , and not a very good one at that... it also wasn't $100k even if it had been real...

I wasn't there to say it was real or not, but tell me more about why you don't think it was $100K.

Did some googling around. This might be from their "1818" line and it might be a Southwick. Anyone knows?

I'm about 99% positive that is not from the 1818 line. It would say that on it, I believe. Actually, if you look at his other auctions, he has an 1818 Madison, so you can compare the labels.

That label, from what I recall, is often on some of the 346 or Brookscool. Possible that that isn't the case here, though, if it's a sportcoat. It's harder to tell, because I couldn't see a tag along the neckline, and they didn't show any labels on the other side of the jacket. But, from that tag, I'd venture to guess it is from one of the lower lines. Again, possible that it isn't, since there really isn't much evidence.

Do any of you guys have any experience, recommendations, or suggestions for a good electronic shipping scale? I'm thinking about making the move to printing my own postage. Thanks!

edit: I'm looking for something that is pleasing design-wise, not "cheap" looking or feeling (ie not a bunch of plastic parts), and preferably somewhat commercial / industrial looking. I don't want to sound like a weirdo, but I take aesthetic form and practical function into account with almost all of my purchases.

Well, I was going to answer with this
Digiweigh 36# x .1 POSTAGE SCALE Shipping UPS/Fed Ex/USPS Ship Black
but then I saw your edit.
Mine has lasted me 5 years so far.

Thanks! The edit was more of a preference than a requirement. It took me a month to buy a "new" calculator before I finally ended up with this:

^^^ Vintage 1970s Rockwell 10-R Calculator w/ red LEDs. (It took a little getting used to because it works like an old adding machine, lol.)

Nice. I have an old TI around here somewhere that must be it's cousin.

Search Pitney Bowes. They have some industrial style scales. I have an old Hanson postal scale (dial type) if you are interested.

Hey guys, I'm buying this BB SC but couldn't figure out what line is this from. Anyone knows?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

All it says is Established in 1818. Could this be a Madison?

Its just a little bit old. Before 3-5 years ago, BB didn't have the Madison, Regent, or Fitzgerald lines. There was just mainline, 346 (the outlet), and ones like golden fleece and hand tailored. This is just regular mainline and probably from 2000-2003. I definitely would not buy it, as its nothing really special and likely an orphan. After spending enough time thrifting, you'll find yourself running into BB stuff with this label pretty often.

my understanding is that birkins start at around $6k and head up from there... even if he bag that was destroyed was real and crocodile, it would have to be jewel encrusted (usually diamond) to be in the $100k category

Thanks for the reply. I did some search and found a thread where someone is also trying to find the line. His label is a bit different. It has the BB trade mark. Someone said this is apart of their main line. http://www.styleforum.net/t/124123/help-me-id-a-brooks-brothers-label/0_100

I think for BB's SC line, they only stitch the generic label on the left breast pocket such as this one. http://www.vintageformen.com/X0546.php

This BB SC only had this label on it. Maybe some of their SCs only had this label. I'll have to see it when I get it in mail.

I also found someone who was trying to id his 2 piece with the same label.

I think their older line include Brooksgate and Brooksease. Both were their lower end and were dis-countinued. However, from what I understand non of those lines had that label.
