I think the fact it's an officer's uniform. Most people can't seem to find a need to wear it. Shoot, if this were my size, I'll rock the shit out of it!!!

Actually from some rich guy who recently passed away and family wanted to clear out his old stuff, it's pretty much mostly vintage but really nice stuff

I thrifted that exact pair last year, one of my favorites!

Tyrone, I think both of the those look pretty good. The first one needs some waist suppression like you mentioned, and I think both could have the trousers lengthened a touch and tapered a bit to get rid of the bell bottom effect. Of course, this is coming from someone who wears his pants slim, so proceed with caution. biggrin.gif

Just out of curiosity, how many of you have actually sought recently dead people's families/called people you could ID from their donations and gotten stuff out of it? Also, later tonight ill have pics of all the M. Dingman models im kopping, and with each model a list of sizes. Im still willing to hook it up fat for the regulars/people i've traded with in the past, people who are newer/i haven't seen post/lurk i'm thinking ill do 50+shipping (thats still 80% off retail bros). If all goes well, i'll take the profits and buy more. They have lots of them, lots and lots of them, waaaaaay more than I would've imagined... 171 pair to be exact. Isn't that fucking nuts? BTW im going to pump them for info when im there, but i would imagine that this isn't a one-off donation, but rather that they do it twice yearly for each major season s/s and f/w. If this is the case ill be alllll over that shit come winter, and all over both seasons for the years to come, I could really, really make some serious bank off this. They also said that at some point they had a lot more than they do currently, apparently 2 pallets worth. How many shoes fit on a pallet? Apparently the 171 represents less than one full pallet...

IMPORTANT, I NEED THE HELP OF THE COMMUNITY: Do any of you guys know of any retailers who might be willing to buy them from me in bulk? Given the volume of shoes it would be ideal to sling 125 of them to a retailer, and then list the other 50. They don't have boxes, but if there are future purchases i'll make sure they keep them.

If you are going to sell it to a retailer, I'd imagine you would need some paperwork showing you didn't just pick them up from a warehouse someone forgot to lock. And I'm not sure about tax stuff, doing it like that.I mean, if they sell well on Ebay, put them out in batches and then just keep pitching them out. Oh, and I would think to stay with the pretty conservative stuff that doesn't look too off even if it takes a while to sell.

Edit: I just had a look on Ebay, and while there has been a few models sold at like $90, I wouldn't count on that. A more realistic figure would probably be $50 sans fees. So, just thinking about the work involved, how much can you negotiate them down? It would be a shame if you had to do a lot of hard work and not get much out of it.

Yeah, I wouldn't even try to sell them to a retailer. That is downright sketchy. I would open an eBay store. List every item/in every size you have. Sit back and ship your orders while they roll in. Listing wouldn't even be that hard considering you are buying multiple sizes in the same style. That means you only need one really good set of pictures!
