Not a thrift brag, but a discount store brag.  Got these through that DSW sale at 35% of the original price.  I don't really wear black shoes but I purchased these for my wedding next summer (not a fan of patent leather).  With a good spit shine these will be perfect.  It's going to be hard to not wear these for a whole year...

I was trying out both types of lacing, but I think I'm going with the hidden knot lacing.

I thrifted the exact same pair last year! Love the navy/gray color combo. My favorite pair of "tennies".

+1. I've been in similar situations and always ended up having to call them and have them say "Oh yeah....sorry, I lost your number!" or "Oh.....hey.....I completely forgot....".

Fishy went thrifting.

A semi-decent day. Still not Seattle caliber, but I'll take what I can get at this point. All available.

Any hat guys in the house? Vintage Borsalino. I don't know that much about hats, but this appears to be quite nice. Size 5, which I've gathered is a french size, so US size 7 & 1/8.

Thanks mang!  I was originally saving up for some G&Gs but I'm quite happy with these.  Since they were heavily discounted I'm still halfway to a pair of MTO G&Gs from Nick mwink[1].gif devil.gif

Is it bad that the shoe trees were what got me most exited? My dress shoe collection has grown quite a bit and I find myself short of good trees.

Today I had a most memorable (and slightly disturbing) encounter at a GW near my office. I stopped by after a meeting to check out their shoes and ties and while perusing their ties a woman came up and began looking as well. I had a Vineyard Vines in hand and she asked me what it was, I showed her. She proclaimed that she always liked their ties. As she was talking about VV she picked out a Robert Talbott BOC I had left behind (I very rarely pick them up as I have become rather selective and most simply don't do it for me) and ased if I liked it. I said it was alright but she could have it. It was at this point that things got interesting. She said she liked it because it would make a great addition to her quilt. I asked her what she meant by this. She proceed to explain that she used to shop for ties for her husband who has passed away several years ago and she couldn't bring herself to stop. So, instead of stopping, she continued to look for the quality ties he used to wear. She explained that she would buy the ties and then deconstruct them, using the silk as a sort of patch for her quilts. She would apparently take the labels and put them around the edges as a sort of border! I asked her if she used the best ties for this, she replied that only the best would do because that's all her husband would wear. Apparently she has been deconstructing Hermès, Charvet, Kiton, Borrelli and the like because that's what her husband wore! I was partly moved and partly horrified! I'm really not sure what to think. I do wonder, however, what that quilt will end up looking like!

Yeah, sounds like B.[&]S. to me.
Had a decent day.

BSon

Sulka, my size

RLPL my size (tiny pen mark, but I have faith in the treatment!)

Gerry USA Reversible Down Vest n/a

Shorts - Lululemon x2, Skeet x1

Zegna Paisley Tie

Brooks Brothers Elephant Tie N/A

Hand Rolled Pocket Square/Scarf - Wall Street?

Creep Clothes three quarter sleeve

Anyone know these guys? I assume it's some sort of SWD brand but couldn't find much on them...just says "Selvedge" and made in Australia, nothing else. Nice green gingham shirt.

Not sure if I should have passed on this - H Hilfiger made in Italy black velvet jacket, dual vented ticket pocket 3 roll 2. 42L. I can return - should I?

Random ladies silk shirt - anyone know this maker?

Finally, are we doing the scavenger hunt thing yet? If so, I have a candidate for "oldest find" - 1940 bespoke midnight morning jacket tuxedo...thing? Sorry, pictures are horrible and don't do it justice. Seems to be in pretty immaculate shape though.
