Quick question - How much would you guys pay for a pair of shell cordovan Hanover shoes in a thrift shop. This place has some really nice ones that appear to be about 30-40 years old at least, but the price is not too cheap (around $180) for a pair of 40-year old shoes. The do have 9/10 soles and are fairly cleaned up.
Keep an eye on them. No one is going to buy them at that price, so they could end up a bargain. That's what often happens with overpriced stuff, depending on how the shop operates--they go to 50 percent off (still too high in this case) and then even lower. Around here, everything is priced at a central location, then distributed to stores, where the staff doesn't have authority to change prices. So gouging can actually work in your favor.
