Some authentic Brionis DO have a chain. Just don't burn any, please!

Had a pretty nice Friday of thrifting, might as well start of with the best first...

Kiton DB Suit - first Kiton anything I've found and in pretty minty condition:

$10? OK

Lucky enough to find the pants on the rack - wasn't too hard with the color

This is a good sign, right?

Also found a couple things for the bay:

Burberry London nova check shirt - can anyone help with an authenticity check?  Looks pretty good to me, says "Made in the UK"

Robert Graham short sleeve seersucker - looks pretty insane so assuming it will do well:

I'm just going to assume that isn't my size, as I'm pretty broke at the moment.

Picked this thing up today at GW.

100% polyester so I have to ask- is it fake? (are there even any high end designers that make anything 100% poly?)

Like all of them. The more important questions is, what the hell is that?

This is driving me insane.  I'm pretty sure I've seen old Italian dudes playing that brand of accordion outside restaurants, and I agree I think it's from the 50's.  I don't recognize it as one of the top / famous brands (is there any other branding anywhere?), but probably worth something if it's in good shape -- condition is critical, so check the bellows for airtightness.  I don't know what market price is for them, though, sorry.  Is there any indication of country of origin? If Italy or Germany, you're on the right track.

+1

This is VERY significant...let me look up some links for you!

When you list it, make sure you mention VINTAGE and PLEATS.

Info!

  • Issey Miyake Fête - colorful women's line that "draws on the technological innovations of Pleats Please"[8] (Fête means 'celebration' in French) (since 2004)
  • Pleats Please Issey Miyake - polyester jersey garments for women that are first "cut and sewn and then pleated [...] (normally, fabric is first pleated and then cut and sewn [...])"[9] "to permanently retain washboard rows of horizontal, vertical or diagonal knife-edge pleats."[10] (since 1989/93)

I've been using a criteria of any items containing polyester or synthetic blends as stuff to pass up on. Now I'll have to reconsider such items.

It's a sleeveless blouse with a matching buttonless cardigan-type thing
