If it's on the part of the sole that gets worn, fine grit sandpaper also works great.

Bravo!

I think I've seen two or three pairs of shell shoes while I've been thrifting, none of which were worth picking up.

I've never seen shell Thrifting. But keep em coming!

Sorry, but nothing is available and I can't respond to requests for measurements. I have my reasons for a) nothing being available and b) still posting finds despite some members belief that everything posted should be up for grabs to the community. I'm jealous that that system works for you; it unfortunately doesn't work for me. Should any item I post become available, I'll post it in the trade thread.

This is the second non-Hermes "Made in France" tie, that both feels like an Hermes tie, and also has the looped thread. The other was a Sulka. I'm assuming they were both made my Hermes.

Ive got to say, Ive found more stuff for myself this past week than I have in a year. Incredible. Some like minded gent unloaded his library, and I filled in a few blanks :

wandered over to the shirts, and this sucker was right there waiting for me, I must have missed it from the other shirt haul last week :

Grand total - $13 bucks! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Also, does anyone do or know someone who does consignment on non-menswear stuff? I found a Rocket racing suit today, mesh, armor plated, etc. you know, for motorcycles? I suppose I could sell it but if anyone specializes in that area, let me know!

Two pairs of shells today....

Bostonian (brown) fresh caught in the wild today. Minimally worn

NOS Hanover (burgundy) fresh back from shoe repair today.

Previous owner had one leg shorter than the other and had a larger heel on one. The soles are scuffed for traction, but not from wear.

This is the vintage you want... one of my better vintage finds ever. Mcdonald was a dry goods merchandiser and later workwear maker that specialized in selling clothing to railroad workers. Their factory was located in St Joseph, MO, I'm in KC, so a semi local product here. The factory closed down due to the depression in 1933. The most recent ad for this shirt with the Red Seal brand was 1924 on Google. Vintage chambray is awesome. Triple stitched seams, mint condition, crazy.
