Part 2 of Beach Formal...."BELT TIME" assuming I'm wearing these pants and a white OCBD with blue blazer (Pic #1 from before with white shirt)
YES that is a slim fit 14.5 shirt uhoh.gif Have slimmer but they are not OCBD but spread collar so not to fond for this look.

These are all $20 or under 'discount' belts

No! Go to your clothes drawer, pull out the plainest brown leather dress belt that you own and wear that. You could also get away with a solid navy grosgrain belt. Do not wear a pattern with those trousers, and do not wear white. The key to making GTH work is to wear just one GTH element, and you've used up your quota with those trousers. The white shoes are also a mistake--what are you hoping to accomplish by piling neon on top of neon? That sort of thing invites involuntary servitude with Barnum & Bailey as an unpaid clown. If you do it right, half the people will laugh at you. If you do it wrong, everyone , including people who know how to dress, will laugh.

Ok, first time trying to post pictures.  Pants.  All obtained in the last 2 weeks with knowledge gained from this thread.   Today's purchase was a single yellow/blue stripe Charles Tyrwhitt shirt not notable enough compared to the rest of the thread to take pictures of/post, though it is quite nice.  For now I am only purchasing for myself, no flipping or selling (partner's already a borderline hoarder so not sure if adding a bunch of not-my-size clothes is a wise move) which is also why the pictures suck since I don't post to eBay or B&S.

Zanella Super 120's (Click to show)

Zanella wool Super 120's.

Brooks Brothers Corduroy (Click to show)

Brooks Brothers corduroy with Lora Piana cotton.  2nd picture captures the color better.   Very soft.

And easier the biggest find of my relatively short thrifting hobby so far, which I totally have this thread to thank for in terms of being able to recognize quality even before seeing the label:

Kiton trousers (Click to show)

My tailor had to fix a slight tear at the pocket, but otherwise these fit like they were made for me.  Incredibly comfortable.  I actually made an audible enough sound when I saw the label that one of the ladies in the store was concerned I had hurt myself.

Wow - pretty dead on here. Everyone off getting ready for Memorial Day vacations/get-togethers or something?

Easye and Suited generated some thrift synergy that made it's way up to Minnesota.

Easily broke my record for total spending at a thrift store today. Also, I've never needed boxes over bags for clothing that I've bought from a thrift store. I can now honestly say I know what it feels like to walk in DM7's shoes for a day.

I'll leave you with this as I run these through the dryer to freshen them up and snap photos.

What's the monogram? Could be an intentional part of the garment. Costume D'Homme is one of Yohji's less adventurous lines, but still good and worth some good dollas if you intend to flip.

Dibs 40-42 R/L.

And I'd like to bring things down a bit by lamenting the loss of a great Toronto institution.

Holt Renfrew Last Call was occasionally a nuisance, often packed to the gills and difficult to navigate. But if you showed up at just the right time, there were some incredible deals to be had. I picked up a Wings + Horns shirt there for $17, a minorly damaged Zegna blazer for $100 (just flipped for $350), Vince chinos for $30, and more.

Two months ago, Holts shuttered the location and prepared to convert it into its new discount retail concept, HR2. The new store opened this week.

Gone is any brand worth even considering (except maybe Naked & Famous jeans for $90 a pop). The store carries exclusively brands like Hugo Boss, Elie Tahari, 7FAM, Michael Kors, and in the shoe section, nothing but Bed|Stu and Andrew Marc.

I'll be pouring a 40 on the curb tonight, and doing a lot more of my shopping online from now on. In the immortal words of Toronto's mayor, the now infamous Rob Ford... "Folks, the deal is dead."
