Is this thing available? If so, can you pass along measurements?

Horn buttons, hidden pocket on inside, in very good shape. I don't know my history well enough. I know Gieves bought Hawkes & Co. in the 1970s, but I don't know how Chester Barrie fits into the picture. At any rate, I assume this was an OTR model, or it wouldn't have the size written on the label.

Replying to my own post, because I'm just that self-centered. I haven't found a lot of info about the Chester Barrie/Hawkes & Co. connection. However, as I understand it, Barrie was known for making ready-to-wear garments for different shops, so I assume that they made this line for Hawkes & Co., sometime before 1974, when Hawkes joined with Gieves.
At any rate, damn that's a cool coat! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I passed on a Robert Talbott 7-fold, because I can't see myself wearing an intense purple and black, heavyweight tie.
Am I out of my mind?

I'd try to rock that.

And for the third installment in the "pay attention to Tyrone" series: this great Ivy Style interview tells me that the J Press jacket must be from between 1968 and 1980 or so.
History is awesome.

Here is a little breakdown of what was going on for those who care... My sister is adopted and has a history of acting out. Recently she has been acting out more and more severely and we learned her birth mother was bipolar. Despite doing all we can as a family to support her, she has proved to need more exert care than we can give. Two weeks ago she made another suicide attempt this one ending with a trip to the hospital. After that she was transferred to a psychiatric crisis center for about a week in an attempt to better analyze her condition. In this place we were allowed to visit her daily for about an hour and she seemed to be doing better. Despite this the experts dedicded she needed ever more care than they could give and she was transferred a few days ago to a special boarding school (out of state:/ ) without being able to coming home. This has been a huge stress for her and our family which has only been compounded by school and ap tests and our financial situation and the funding for my mothers job being cut. Anyway I want you all to know our family has a lot of hope that this will help her and stalking this thread has really helped my cope throughout the past weeks and months so thank you all for that.

Holy ship, dude! Wow, that's a lot to deal with, bro. Hang in there, man! When you are feeling down, go put on that PRL blazer!

New here. Any recommendations on where to thrift menswear in London? bigstar[1].gif

Welcome. Just Google "London thrift shops" and start exploring. You'll likely discover you have more luck in some areas, but good stuff can show up anywhere if you're patient and persistent. Locals aren't going to spoon feed you their lists of the best spots, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out quickly.

Looking forward to seeing your finds.

Looks like a horrible knock off of Dior Homme's tags by John Bartlett.

That reference code is for a Spring 2006 piece.

Maybe its one of those things where brands try to look like the better, more expensive stuff.

Like the Kirkland waistband for their trousers, that looks similar to Zanella's.

Lame.

Any young Republicans out there in need of a tie?

A women's Pink shirt. I'll have to see if the wife is interested...
