Good news is that I picked up a few sick things including a new turntable and burr grinder.  Photos of these and other recent finds to come.

Burr grinder? Sounds like a good find. Do post pics!

Some of you guys absolutely kill it at thrift stores.

Picked this up a few weeks ago. Needed a bit of restoration, but I'm happy with it. A wool bomber in a houndstooth check that was made locally here, I believe in the 70's. I can see this being a casual staple alot this winter.

Strong, boys. Keep this torrent of awesome coming.

Dear God, Wes. That Zegna blue gun check is.... Well, at least it's a hair big for me, because I shouldn't be spending money.

Everything else is going to the bay or in my closet. This one comes at my cost plus shipping. I was going to leave this behind because of the price, but I figured someone here would snatch it up at my cost plus shipping. If nobody claims it, I'll throw it on ebay. It's a 44 Reg single vent, navy and from my first examination seems to be in mint condition.

The rest of the haul is below, one of my best in terms of quantity and a few cherries popped:

My thoughts exactly. There's an awful lot of unsuck in here. However, u sure that mafioso Canali isn't an orphan? Horn buttons aren't unusual on a beige suit. And that Marinella: not a Tiecrafter's candidate even? Sad to see such a noble beast relegated to such a fate. That might even make a decent square....

Plokhov blazer - eBay
H&M T - FULL RETAIL BETCHES, could probably use a longer one though
Nameless Italian pants - thrifted, then tailored for (hopeful) stackability
Blundstone boots - Boxing Day sale a couple of years ago... not the greatest, but they'll do until something better comes along I guess.
My "don't comment on fit unless the poaster asked for comments" rule plus my intense lack of SWD knowledge combine to form a megastorm of "STFU GMMcL." Stacking is good in SWD? Then why did I get ripped for having denim too long a while back? And is it ok in SWD to not have the jacket cover one's ass -- Phatguido's #1, #3, #5, #7, #9 etc. MC sartorial rule?
No, no. STFU, GMMcL! You've said too much already!

I think we're mostly using this thread for Ebay questions
But how about: "Wanna Dress Like Al Capone? Then these are the bench made Polo shoes for you"

Yea, but it mostly seems to be about issues everyone is having...so I didnt want to derail that thread mwink[1].gif

Getting ready to list some stuff and stumbled across a few things I've picked up over the past few months that are, upon further review, kind of cool, or at least I thought.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Pearl Izumi, made in USA, immaculate.

The zip-in liner is missing, but except for that, it's perfect.

Hoping Nat will weigh in here. Made in USA GoreTex is pretty rare these days. I've heard of CampMor, which is on the zipper pulls, but not the outfit in New Hampshire that's on the main label. Almost tempted to keep it since it fits, but I already have two GoreTex shells.

Moving right along with the outdoor theme, this is labeled large, but it has to be a boy's size.

One of these days, I'll find a pair of these in my size

11AAA? There has to be somebody out there....

Pnut, those are only 11 A shoes. Alden lists it backwards from pretty much everyone else. The AAA refers to heel.

Perhaps it's just the photos, but the first Isaia looks a little fuller than I think would be ideal for you in the chest and sleeves. I'm guessing there's some extra cloth bunching behind the arm pits too?
I disagree about the last jacket I think it is just the high button stance (is it above your belly button?!?) that makes it look larger on him
post #69719 of 109362
^ See the extra chest fabric "rolling," the voluminous sleeves, and the previously mentioned loose waist. If we were to see the back, I'm sure there would be other signs. It's not an issue of the buttons stance; there's just too much jacket there for him.

That just sucks.  Takes all the fun out of thrifting.  I picked up some Prada for $9.99 on Friday.  As it should be...  Most of our GW's here stick to the model if something is REALLY nice it'll be $12.99.  Usually they reserve that for Polo, then sell me an Isaia coat for $10.99 - which I later found the extra button satchel in the pocket as a bonus!
