My official reason for thrifting is to make my net purchases for clothes $0, so I buy and sell, then I can go to the men's store and get what I want. I started making halfway decent $, now my goal is to make the entire family's clothing purchases net 0. This would go a long way to reaching that goal. Maybe I will hold onto it for a while and sell it when it is no longer a novelty, or I find another.

lightning rarely strikes twice my friend especially in a fashion as spectacular as this, if I were you I would keep it and wear it into the ground after all it cost you what $10? when it eventually gets ruined you are only out the amount you paid for it not the amount you could potentially make off of it especially since I don't think clothes can be considered financial assets...

This was my goal also as everything I find does not fit, BUT you will find enough stuff that does not fit to sell/trade if you want. Keep the stuff that does fit if you like it!

A HUGE thanks to everyone that sent me a PM. I've been in my inbox since I posted that as every time I sent out a PM, I got a new one. I'll send out info soon. However, a person with the initials RM is involved and I don't have your SF username from previous PMs/secret santa. I have an idea, but if your real initials are RM, would you mind PMing me to confirm your username? Thanks!

Can I retain some of that "age" if I have them cleaned up a bit? Thoughts?

You can antique them, but if your first try at it, you probably would be better off just cleaning and up keeping those shoes. And yes, gunboats do look good with a nice pair of dark jeans!

Got a few bags of stuff to flip, but grabbed a few things for you guys if anyones interested to trade - Im interested in ties to sell, I dont care really. Just thought you may like this stuff for yourselves to wear.

A few NWOT tags from Number One Lab, made here in NY, pretty neat wrinkled cotton ginghams with "cool" technology. Nice fit on them. Also a chambrayish number from the same maker.

Also, this amazing handmade, silk paisley lined number for anyone who is a 44. Gorgeous B/W check, nice fit, no other info. A few tiny holes and marks, just couldnt leave it.

Last, one shirt for me, which is rare that I find something I like and fits my arms. I feel like Ive heard this name before, decent? I didnt google. Sorry for the flipped pics, wanted to post before my auctions end in a few minutes.

I picked these Aldens up the other day. They look to be in pretty great shape.

While we were out of town, my daughter (yes, three daughters) came very early at 28 weeks. And the complications that caused it nearly took my wife (inorite? What is this, 1613??). So we are laid up with my incredibly strong and resilient wife recovering and my baby in the nicu.

Please send thoughts, prayers and whatever you believe in; we're out of the woods, but it will be a long and windy road home.

But most of all, keep poasting awesome stuff. Thrifting will be a rare treat, and posting even rarer. So I will live vicariously through you guys for a while.

But don't think this gives ANYONE permission to fish my waters, or that it any way negates my permadibs on 42R, 36 x 30, 16.5 x 34, 10.5-11D.

^^^ Just came across this and wanted to congratulate you on your new daughter(s).  One kid would be a major game-changer, moreso three.  smile.gif  Best wishes to you and your family and here's to a speedy recovery for your wife.

Also,  this last part is more of a brag for my Etsy shop...

Picked this up today from goodwill. Seems to be either new without tags or simply mint condition. Size 38, but it runs a bit big and fits me perfectly. I've wanted to try a duffle for a while, so this will be good to hold onto until the fall.

First of all, Noob you can have that Plokhov blazer...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Don't know if the Helmut Lang blazer would fit, it's about a 40S, with 23.5" sleeves.

Basically, it looks like this on me:

(oh yes, those are Adidas sweats... not thrifted)

Sleeve detail close-up... hidden functional cuffs. About 1" possible to let out, might look a bit silly though.

AppleMark

Full thing. Not OG Helmut, made in China. But still a pretty sweet blazer in a linen/wool mix I'd totally be keeping if it fit.

AppleMark

Also from the same store... also all available unless otherwise noted.

Rinaldo Raspini by Corneliani suit, 50R but fits closer to a 52R.

AppleMark

Close-up of colours.

Here's an odd one. PRL made in USA but fully canvassed. 43L.

AppleMark

Only tag on the inside. Who made this?

And for me, SuperDry herringbone pants. I've seen SuperDry at discount stores and always thought it was tacky Ed Hardy-ish stuff, but these are pretty cool and fit great.

AppleMark

Only tags on the inside, no idea where it was made or what it was made of. Are there different levels of this brand?

icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif Verrrrry nice.

Do you consign?  'Cause I've been meaning to unload these since I picked them up for a song last spring...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Can't remember if I ever posted these here, as I picked them up when I first started thrifting.  All 10 are NWT, most in original packaging, all still pinned and everything.  Lowest priced (on tag) was $17, highest was $34.  Not certain of the vintage, although I've had estimates of 60s to early 70s.  I didn't even pay $17 for the whole lot...
