This may hit the buy/sell or ebay.  Paid $95 so not thrifty thrift dollars.

But not as pleased as I was finding this today...

I was at a "stuff etc" recently, consignment shop version of Goodwill, and they had a 3 piece suit.

The pants were separate.

The jacket was separate.

The vest was paired with a DIFFERENT jacket.  Cause blue chalkline goes with gray.  The blue chalkline vest was tagged separate.  The gray jacket was tagged as if it had a vest.

I almost exploded their heads when I tried to explain what was going on (in an attempt to get a few bucks of the gray jacket, tagged with vest but paired with wrong vest and correct vest missing).

Found the pants first. Jacket was in the ladies section.

My best orphan reunion session was last year, my girl found a pair of Prada reverse orphan. I was like ehhhhh, but my size so cool. Until the next day, I found the orphan packed between 2 ffffuuuu.gifjackets. LOL, during the same day, I also found a GA 100% cashmere jacket and a same size Zegna blazer. That was a good day.

Hey all,

Longtime lurker, but just joined a few minutes ago. I'm so intrigued what you all have found out there, and I'm a thrift store shopper as well with the same tastes many of you have.

I'll share my experiences as well. Funny, growing up, my mom thrift shopped (to help charities overseas with clothes) and always found it weird. However, I used to do some high-end consignment sales with a partner in the late 90's until recently and got hooked with shopping at thrift stores.

If you ever saw me, most of you would be like, "he shops at those places?"

However, I do find it a lot of fun and try to hit as many as I can during the week.

I like finding diamonds-in-the-rough and higher end stuff. I've bought plenty of suits, clothes, artwork and more stuff over the years. It's just quite fascinating how someone's junk can be someone's treasure.

Look forward to swapping adventures with you all.

Came up with a Kent Wang burgundy grenadine tie at funky Salvation Army where I never find anything worthwhile. That is quite a coup for central Ohio.

Welcome! Can't wait to see what you find!

I have actually had the same "problem." When I show up after work at the few places that don't know me, a lot of people hold out their hand for my briefcase thinking I'm bringing a donation rather than shopping. One time, at the only place that prices things by category, I swear a woman marked something up on me. Every coat and jacket is €10, but when I brought one up there, she said it was €30. I said that I thought every coat was €10 and she said "except that one, it's €30."

I put it back, but she's been fair to me every time since. I think that once she found out I that I spend money every time I walk through the door, she backed off a bit. smile.gif

Oh, and I've been meaning to ask...where are some of the regulars around here? Eazy has only been posting once a week and I haven't seen Grendel around. What gives?

Ahhh, so I suppose most are tied up in that case. We have all year to do taxes, but there's not a lot of rush as we don't see 30-50% of our pay because it's put straight towards taxes.
