They aren't marked, other than the "Professional Dry Clean Only" tag. The close up of the weave looks identical...too funny.

I picked up a few nice shirts today

I had a couple passes, a pretty cool vintage Montgomery Ward red/black buffalo check in i'm guessing size 14.5-15 and some other stuff included a PRL Made in Japan quarter zip blue sweater. Polo, Made in Japan? Does anybody know about that?

@Pnutpug: Thanks for the info.  Unfortunately the coat's a bit to long and would need to be redone.  Not interested in flipping.  I'll either bite the bullet and have it tailor to a 40R or see if I can trade it here.

@Deadboy: Tried to get the spoilers to work, but couldn't figure out how to add the pictures within the spoilered portion.  I'll have to learn that.

favorite cop in a long long time....

common projects achilles for 89 shipped..

I have been going HAM on ebay lately, I got the red baracuta g9 I have been after forever, a brioni navy garza fina grenadine for $20 (although I am sending it to tiecrafters to slim it down to a 3.25) some OG supreme t's from back when their collabs were cool like run DMC, but what I really am lusting after right now is this tie...

it is freaking perfect but listed at a buy it now of $100, the only reason I am considering it is because I recently recently purged my entire tie collection, except for

  • the navy grenadine
  • self tipped unlined summer navy and white rep
  • green silk with blue pindot

all I need to round out my collection is the brown borrelli tie and a 3in black silk knit.

MartiniGirl - Im quite impressed at the Campagna scissors comment. Wow.

Gmmcl - I always scroll slow at your fit pics, am quite impressed at the top, but your thighs down always disappoint me. Your pants, Im guessing are 9.5-10" at the cuff? I think you would benefit from going to an 8.5-9.25" comfort zone on the cuff, and wearing less blobby shoes. The top is so fitted and looks great, the bottom is discordant from that to my eyes.

I know, not the thread for critiques, but I know you are trying to improve and have made leaps and bounds so far.

Carry on.

I have a few finds that I have some questions on. I picked up two suits that I thought, initially, fit me.  Unfortunately, one is a 40L that would cost about $155 to tailor to me.  The coat on the other suit fit, but the pants needed some letting out.  Unfortunately, when I was at my tailor, we found a patched hole that would be exposed.  I'm still considering getting suit #1 done, but wanted to get some advice from the forum here.  Also picked up a supposed "Christian Dior" shirt, but I'm not sure it's real.  Hoping I can get some tag expertise if possible. Thanks in advance for the help.

Suit #1, 40L and too long for me unless I want to spend $155. Anyone ever hear of Britches of Georgetown?  Seems like an old local NoVA department store, perhaps?

Legit Loro Piana tag?

Suit #2

40R I believe (coat fit me well and I'm about a 40R), but the pants were too tight for my 33-34 waist.  Plenty of room to let them out, until I noticed the patch job. Anyone ever heard of the brand?

Christian Dior shirt, real or no?

Pink, n/a.

Anyone here of this brand of shirt?

The Loro Piana is legit. Daks is awesome if fits me. CD is crap. Incoming PM! fing02[1].gif

Everything everyone else said plus I'm not sure a coat of that length is a flattering look for you. Makes you look kinda tiny.

I always assumed it was because those brands are made for the big fat Italian dudes who can afford them.

For what it's worth, I've heard nothing but good things about Unbranded, especially at the price point. A local store is selling them for $50 right now and I'm seriously considering getting a pair, even though I already have a denim backlog.

You could probably stand to get a below the knee taper on those, though. There's something weird going on on the right leg in that pic.

I was really surprised to see the quality of Unbranded other than the pleather tag. I would prefer no pleather tag. The blue line selvedge is a nice touch! Yeah, I agree. The tapering is not very aggressive but I can live with these. Lol, I think the "weird" part of the right leg has to do with the angle and the stiffness of the fabric. biggrin.gif

And I don't often ask this, but passed on a Burberry navy blazer. It was $5 but ventless. Good call?

Nice! Is the Burberry made by HF? If it's in good shape, I think $5 will bring you a decent flip.

Much trues.

But the Daks is good. Everything else should be set up on a speed date with fire. (sorry Pack66, there's a lot of fail in there)

Been busy at work, so haven't gotten out. But have hit the odd store between work locations. Found a few things:
photo IMG_1456_zpsc126cfa3.jpg
L to R: Orvis flannel, XL, prolly available
NWT J Crew pale yellow chinos, not available
Vtg Aquascutum DB half trench, needs a solid clean and prolly keeping
Fairly recent USA made (but not by HF) Burberry suit. Some damage. Available (not that anyone wants)
photo IMG_1457_zps1e8faedd.jpg
Closeup of the Orvis
photo IMG_1458_zps7b9107f4.jpg
A few hand-rolled silk squares. Keeping the green and prolly the red paisley. Others are up for grabs.
Anyone recognize these tags: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
