I hear you.  DB isn't getting a lot of love lately.  I just picked up a Brioni black DB blazer in my measurements on ebay for $21.50 + $12 shipping.  It said two of the plastic buttons had cracks, but big whoop.  I'd like to put some different buttons on it anyway.

Thought this would be of interest to some of you. I picked up a severely stained Hermes tie recently for $2. I sent it to the Cordial Churchman in South Carolina, and a week later they sent back this custom bow tie (stain free):

AppleMark

$29. Something to consider next time you see a stained Hermes.

Very nice pick-up!

C'mon LA guys it's been 24 hours already! I'm starting to think this is the greatest thrift thread troll since the Barbour ammo bag

LOL re: the Barbour ammo bag. Classic thrift thread moment.

I'd say AE as well.  As tonylumpkin points out, AE is known to have made Faconnable shoes in the past, and everything on those shoes looks like AE.

Am I crazy, or are these made (in the U.S.A.) by Allen Edmonds? Everything about their construction leads me to believe they are.

So many colors to choose from for my new ammo bag. Maybe it can be a Borrelli/Hermes mash up.

Honestly though, I'm away this evening otherwise I'd shoot some pics.

That is awesome.

I bought a seersucker/madras reversible bow tie from her about a year back, one of my favorites.

My brother and I were talking just the other night about what a great deal it would be to salvage a $2 thrifted high end-tie and send it to them for the custom bow tie recrafting. Well done!

Will that Hermès label be facing out from the center knot when it's tied? icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Here's the Barbour I grabbed on Friday.

Still smells oily, but might need to be re-oiled/waxed....not sure how to tell. It seems nearly unworn, only a tiny smudge here and there. Detachable hood, throat latch, zipped and snapped enclosure. Double zipped rear game pocket, reinforced shoulders and forearms, double snapped waterproof poly cuffs.
