Has anyone seen this before? Pre distressed chinos by Borrelli? Are these meant to be like this? I've seen destroyed chinos by other companies. They are NWT and unhemmed so I'm not sure what to think

Nothing special, just a BB toiletry bag. Opened it up once I got home, There is a small zip pocket on the inside. So I checked if there was anything in there, and there was. I saw a few dollar bills, but there was also a license. The license belonged to a super old dude from my town and had expired a few years before. I started to count the money to see how much was there, and what I thought were dollars, were hundreds. $400 fucking bucks!!! Since I had the dudes license, I at lest had to try and give it back. So I found his number online and gave it a call. His wife picked up, and told me that he had parkinson's before he died and would hide money in weird places. So I drove over to her house and gave her the money and she ended up giving me $100 as a reward. Felt pretty good about myself even though I gave up the four hundi, I still got about 50 times the amount i paid for the bag.

First off that bag is bad ass.

As for the rest of the story...I really hope you get some really good karma from this....because that was a truly selfless thing to do. It would have been easy to pitch the drivers license and pocket the $400.00....hell I don't think anyone would have faulted you given the many debates we've had on finding money in jackets. I'm extremely impressed. worship2.gif

My finds on the day:

Rather weird Brioni silk shirt.  Think it must be really old?  Never seen the III under the tag before.  The thing has a fabric "stripe" on the back of it.

Size is a 16" neck and 33" sleeves -- of course too small for me.

Came across some 9 1/2 Mezlan (Havana model)shoes with lambskin in the middle.  Made in Spain - not sure if the sizing there is like the UK.  Seems closer to a 10 to me, but still too small for me.

And lastly, I have a soft spot for Valentino for some reason.. Picked up this suit (was from Barney's New York) even though it is a 36S.  Certainly available.  Measurements in the spoiler.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

17 1/2 shoulders

28 1/2 length BOC

20 pit to pit

18 1/2 waist

22 1/2 sleeves

no vent

pants are 30x28, not very much extra material

Congrats Abed and Rando! Must be the reason things were so dry for me today.

Only really interesting item was this navy DB polo-style coat. Union tags date it to the 40's:

It actually fits, but I have no need for anything like this on the west coast.

Here's a thrift fit pic of my own from dinner last night with the Wifey:

Cum Rag?

I've had good luck flipping Mastai Feretti.

I'm going to swim against the tide just a bit. I like the tie. I like the rest of the fit. I don't like the tie with this fit, though for the following two reasons:
  1. SF has drummed it into my head that one does not wear a tie with jeans. Business up top and party down below is not coherent.
  2. That button down shirt probably has a sick collar roll which is greatly compromised by being buttoned at the neck and cinched against your throat with the tie.
I say lose the tie and then go ye forth and bed wenches. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I was considering it but ultimately left almost all behind. There was 20-30 bright patterned Ferragamos, a bunch of BB Makers, a Zegna or two and a couple of others. Grabbed the only two that weren't terrible for myself to see what I could do:

Cotton BB Makers

Turnbull & Asser

Made a few stops today at some parts of town I don't usually hit up but nothing much of anything. Both of these available

Brooks Brothers Made In Italy belt, seems NWOT with the BB logo written over in marker. 34.

Polo cotton blazer, breast pocket and vent still basted shut. 42R but feels a little more like a long

Spent all day with the lady at the mall then so too tired to take any good pictures it seems.
