Have no idea about the maker or what they are, but they look recent and Fred Segal is a high-end "street-fashion" boutique in (I believe) Santa Monica. They look like shorts or pants, but they most likely retailed north of $150. I'd say grab em if they're cheap.
Napoli? Wow - that should be fun! Take lots of pictures for us! biggrin.gif

LA is definitely a dream place, but plan wisely. Honestly, either I was in the right places at the wrong times, following right in the wake of some big-timers or at the wrong places all together. LA has so many spots to hit it isn't even funny. You could hit all the stores in the Twin Cities area (MN) and be home before evening traffic starts. In LA, we were out for 2 days straight (morning till night) and still didn't hit all of the ones I wanted to hit.

Looks like $185 retail... Not sure if I can rock but for $2 it's worth a try

Either way, I remember you came back with some stuff but said that you'd expected "the land of milk and honey." The same is true here. I hit half of my stores today and saved the other half for tomorrow and I used public transportation. Insane.

We're doing part of the trip with my parents (their 40th wedding anniversary icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif) and then taking a car for a trip, possibly up the coast. I've always wanted to drive through one of the trees in Redwood Forrest. Not sure exactly where we'll start/end it, but I brought home a ton of stuff last time, so I'm excited to make a go of it again.

Oh yeah, my wife hated it. She brought her book to read in the car. There are tons of cool "wife-approved" places around there, though so you may have jumped that hurdle.

Yup, very true. The fact that I went out there expecting Attolini and Kiton to fall from the sky really didn't help. The fact that they did indeed fall from the sky a month earlier didn't help either! laugh.gif

Honestly though, sounds like you're going to have a great trip. My wife and her mother did a drive up the west coast once and loved it. I've heard the redwood forests are stunning in person. San Francisco is a goldmine, like LA (or so I've heard). Pejsek (the DM7 of the threads early days) lived there and seemed to pull out Kiton, Savile Row bespoke and Hermes cashmere every week.

When in a place of so many stores and so little time, your mind doesn't even think about food. On our second day, my wife knew what was ahead of her and packed herself a lunch and a snack to eat in the car.

Haha, my wife also went through a couple of books last time. We agreed that I'd get her to an interesting area/shopping/TJ Maxx and then I can fly solo at the thrifts. She prefers when I choose our route as I do 100% of the driving, but I've always wanted to do Route 1. Route 66 was #1 on my list and we did that one for our honeymoon a few years ago. It was great. It looks like we'll try to hit the coast and a couple of national parks. We have the National Park Passport and try to hit a couple each time.

On top of that, I'd love to fill an extra suitcase to bring home. I'm still getting rid of some stuff I brought back from the US last time we were there. I just sold a Hickey Freeman Burberry jacket last weekend as a matter of fact. A lot of my trade pile is still from the US....Gitman Brothers and Sulka shirts sitting in the closet. shog[1].gif

I guess I'm on a religion kick the past couple of days, but we're doing a special Oneg Shabbat this Friday night at my synagogue in honor of Cotton Dockers who FIXED ME UP with a seriously cool Brioni jacket, an amazing Luciano Barbera shirt, and a hot Canali fc shirt as well. Thank you (yet again), brother.

Maybe it's because I was raised a Catholic but I can't keep track of all those Jewish holidays!
