Sick as a dog, you guys should be glad you can't catch this vile cold over the Internet. Ugh.

Today's find.

AppleMark
AppleMark

Vintage...short sleeved wool cardigan? Shirt? Where was this intended to be worn? Also if it has a button in the back of the collar, is that designed to keep a tie in order, or just to keep the collar from going sloppy?

Also, any guesses on vintage? I say 50s-early 60s, my wife -- who is a font expert but not a clothes expert -- is betting older

Another big shout out to some of my local competition, Wizard Swears. Not only did he trade two Isaia shirts in my size for some Skeet Blanks, but he also let me walk out of the store with an Isaia jacket that he pulled off of the rack (even if it was an orphan). Thanks dude icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Here's a tip. NEVER get the steak. It tasted like a salt lick. A cold salt lick.

Listen man, Im from New York. We have no WH's. The first time I went down south I discovered the joy that is an all star breakfast. I dream about fucking waffle house. I abandon my family every morning when I am in the south to go to waffle house. Im drunk as shit, 3am? waffle house. I wake up in the morning, wanting to scatter, smother, and cover something. I (srs) contacted waffle house about buying a franchise here in NY the day after I first ate it. I have a collection of waffle house ties. I have waffle house hats and t shirts, and those pins that the servers wear. Id take a salt lick steak any day of the week if it meant I can get a waffle. /rant ifuckinglovewafflehouse

I may never find Kiton.  But I have a Waffle House just down the street.  Little victories.

^ the tie is real, made in 90 or 91 when they were made in Spain - not a bad thing.

WH lovers such as yourself might find nothing wrong with my wife's obsession. She is a collector.

From her blog:

Over the weekend I did an inventory of my Waffle House collection, of which mention has been made here before. I’ve been meaning to catalog this stuff for some time, just to see how much (and what) I have. The oldest item here dates to the late ’90s, in terms of when I acquired it.  At my parents’ house, I have:

  • 4 assorted Waffle House buttons
  • 1 black and yellow Waffle House mini football
  • 2 Waffle House menus (circa 2003)
  • 3 old-school WH wall signs: Breakfast, Waffle, Delicious Sandwiches
  • 1 old-school WH wall sign in original frame: Desserts
  • 1 ladies’ Waffle House uniform shirt
  • 1 accent pillow made (by someone else) from ladies’ WH uniform
  • 1 black and yellow Waffle House paper hat
  • 1 maroon and yellow Waffle House paper hat
  • 2 50th anniversary Waffle House paper hats
  • 2 Waffle House 50th anniversary “Good Food Fast since 1955″ pins
  • 1 Waffle House 50th anniversary commemorative Coke bottle
  • 1 Waffle House 50th anniversary press kit in folder

The rest of my collection is at our place (much to Jon’s delight). This includes:

  • 18 assorted Waffle House buttons
  • 1 clear yellow Waffle House logo piggy bank
  • 2 black and gold Waffle House logo water bottles
  • 1 Waffle House & Coca-Cola yellow mini football
  • 1 Waffle House & Coca-Cola “Partners since 1955″ metal sign from a restaurant fountain machine
  • 1 old-school WH wall sign in original frame: Waffle
  • 1 slightly warped WH vinyl 45: “I like what I see at the Waffle House”/”There’s 844,739 ways to eat a hamburger at Waffle House”
  • 1 3-lb. bag of Waffle House waffle mix
  • 2 Waffle House hashbrown plates
  • 1 Waffle House grits bowl
  • 1 Waffle House coffee mug
  • 2 black and gold Waffle House logo cappuccino mugs
  • 1 Waffle House logo cream and sugar set (direct from HQ!)
  • 1 Waffle House Museum Grand Opening coffee mug
  • 2 postcard invitations to the Waffle House Museum grand opening, September 3, 2008
  • The Waffle House Experience” 50th anniversary coffee table book (signed to me by both founders & 47-year server Lucy Shelton)
  • 2 replica old-timey Waffle House paper hats
  • 2 replica old-timey Waffle House menus
  • 2 Waffle House Museum postcards
  • 1 Waffle House interstate guide
  • 100 or so Waffle House koozies

(The koozies are leftovers from our wedding. Yes, our "Welcome to Atlanta" bag for the out of town crowd included WH koozies and free waffle coupons. Spoo, I will send you as many koozies as you need [the coups have long since expired].)

Oh yeah, her first freelance byline was a feature about Waffle House for Y'all magazine. I will only go to Waffle House on Valentine's Day and Christmas Eve. No exceptions. This does not please her.

Thank you sir! first black label find. I am not sure of the value since the label has been removed.
