Oh, and it's a Sale day...all told, it was under $5...more than my Spicy Chicken Sandwich at Wendy's.

Then I picked up a couple of ties to fill some color needs:

That jacket drapes nicely.

RLPLx2, Barney's "cucita a mano", RLBL (a first for me). Left behind an RLPL in white with the most severe cut-away collar I've seen. Twas super sick looking, but had a little 1mm circular olive green stain on the front shoulder that looked like a bird shat on it and they couldn't get it out. Shame.

The purple shirt is linen and was gorgeous in store. Also severely wrinkled, as linen does. As I steamed it earlier today, I found that it perfectly camo'd the lighter pink pit stains on it.ffffuuuu.gif Guessing it's hopeless at this point right?

The black label is more or less clean, though I then noticed that the fold of the french cuffs (which were conveniently already folded) have a distinct yellow line down the fold

This should be treatable right?

The white RLPL just needs the method/treatment/standard wizardry and it'll be kosher for passover.

Anyone know the details/maker of Barney's made in Italy / cucita a mano shirts?

Super thick buttons with claw/bird foot stitching.

last button hole stitched in red, navy blue stitch detail on the sleeve

Then while discussing with the darkest of all matter via text, a rack rolled out with this peach

Size marked L

Italian tag, right?

Mis-matched vs. Content... Wtf?

Wish it was my size, really nice coat. Available to the thread regulars...

I think this is the first time seeing a Polo that was made in Mexico.

Hit up that place in Minnesota with all the doctors who don't buy nice clothes.

CONFIRMED

Luckily one was done with his midlife crisis so I got his Robert Graham Shirt.

(also here a paul smith and hugo boss)

Last stop of the day finally yielded some stuff.

3 Brooks Brothers Suits.  (346, Makers and 1 other)

Any idea how old this BB label is?

Also found this very nice Camel Hair BB Sport Coat.

Not an amazing day, but worth the trip.

Also I got my suit back from the tailors.  (Amazing tailor in that town)

Here's the website I use to help me date labels. I think it's down for now.

Went in a store I don't hit that often and in their boutique display case, I saw this:

Thought to myself.. They want $4 for an empty Brioni box?  At least it wasn't a pile of poo branded with a Brioni... :)  Anyway, I ask the guy to see the box and I opened it up:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Looking good..  Maybe a tie / cummerbund set.. what color could it be?  Please don't be polka dots or bright yellow...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Okay.. burgundy isn't bad... Sold.

Looked at the coats and they had a couple of half-lined coats.. First one was my first Corneliani - rather casual with thin material.  In a EU 56.. a little big for me.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Wow.. this thing must be old.. the tag was falling apart...  But for under $5, I got it.

The next coat over was the exact same size - assumed it came from the same guy.  Never heard of this brand before, but the price was right and if it came from the same guy that dropped of a Corneliani, I can take a flier on it...

Rene Lezard Super 110s Merino - also EU 56

Oh -- side note -- I really despise ebay making me take a return for coats that "don't fit" after I list the 5 measurements... I advertise no returns at all.  $250 in two coats this week... "It doesn't fit.. so your measurements must be wrong."  Checked my notes for a typo - nope.  I asked which measurement they disagreed with.  Chirp.. chirp..    They filed a not as described.  I lost.  Ugh...

Been looking for a tux to wear in one month for a night out on St. Catalina Island for my sister and my wife's birthday. Finally found the perfect one today. Navy Blue, peak lapel, single button.

Question:

How should I dress it?  Should I wear a bow tie or regular tie? Should the tie be black or blue...or is another color/pattern acceptable?

I personally think winged collar looks more elegant. But you can't go wrong with a spread collar. I think when you go tux, you gotta wear a bow tie.

I wasn't supposed to go ultra formal because there was question if the other men going would be able to pull something off. But I know my wife and sister are both wearing gowns...so, screw the other guys. It's the fucking Catalina Wine Mixer!

How the heck do you guys do these mirror pics all the time. Please ignore the wrinkles and the dirty mirror.

Winged w/ bow tie... depends on the color of your tux but black or midnight blue

What size shirt are you looking for?

I don't know if Rene Lezard gets much play here or is any good for ebay, but the only one I've picked up was of pretty good quality.
