It all has to do with the way they style the footbeds. Their current Ortho lines are prettymuch indistinguishable from the normal stuff. Leather soles and all.

It's small, yes, due to my gut, which is an ongoing project. It's obvious that it's too small when I button the jacket.

But unbuttoned, is it "too small" (passable) or "TOO small" (lose some damn weight)? Since it's going to be cold here tomorrow, I was thinking it might make the perfect V-Day ensemble, paired with a Drakes black grenadine and brown AE Sanfords. But perhaps not.

I think it looks good man, but I'd change the tie out. Black looks really off to me with this outfit. I like warmer colors for that suit, or even a solid blue or grey knit would work if you have something like that. Great suit though.

I agree that a different solid color might work better, especially one that picks up an accent color (e.g. in the red family, like a cranberry).  I respectfully disagree about using a knit, though. While the texture of the knit tie would look great against the plaid, the thickness would not help with the size issue.  In general thick knits do not work well with a fitted vest like this one.

Or of course you could always pass it on to someone smaller.... (still obv. jealous I didn't make it in line in front of you, though I probably would've had the opposite problem with it).  I think the girth is not so much a fit problem as is the length of the vest, which seems a tad short for those trousers on you.  Probably not a problem to leave jacket unbuttoned, though.

Hello everyone.  I created a thread earlier but I thought I might get more of a response by posting on this thread.  I came across these really cool Alden wingtips the other day.  I'm trying to figure out how old they are and what they are. I have searched all over the net and have found shoes that are close to these, but not exactly the same.  The texture is different from the ones I have found and the pattern on the toe is slightly different.  I know they are older between 1974-1990, but that's about it. Does anyone have any information on these shoes and how much they would be worth.

Today passed on a GERRY Down jacket, nice leather collar. Marked up quite a bit. Hit 6 stores in all today and it was good! I'm sure Nataku will post up the finds for the day, I would list 'em off but quite frankly I don't remember all of it. Last find of the day was a sweet pair of ALDEN wing-tips in the Return bin, who would return ALDEN's?

mountain Hardwear is among the top outdoor manufacturers. I'd rank them like this:

1. Feathered Friends
2. Bibler
3. Western Mountaineering
4. Arcteryx
4. Patagonia
6. Mountain Hardwear
7. Marmot
8. Sierra Designs

Two interesting finds:

John Varvatos denim. 32L (available and in damn good condition)

And APC Rescue denim. 35. Might be available if I don't keep them.

Great finds everybody.

Pretty crappy day here, my cat passed away when I got home. At least I was there for the end.
