One store for me today. Total crap. Until they brought out a literal bin of ties. Started going through them. Mostly Pulitzer and Dior. Then a few gems.
Early finds. Interesting enough to keep digging (Click to show)

And then Well, now you have my attention (Click to show)

And then FIRE! FIRE! (Click to show)

And then this happened This (Click to show)
And these (Click to show)
And these (Click to show)
And these (Click to show)
And these (Click to show)
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand these (Click to show)

32 in all. Condition varies, to be sure. But all are serviceable or better. No guarantees that all are genuine, but if even just 2 are, I've more than made my money back.
The breakdown (Click to show)

15 x Hermes
1 x Borrelli
1 x Channel
2 x Ricci
4 x Ferragamo
1 x T&A
1 x J Press
2 x PRL, 1 NWT
1 each x Travelyan, Cerrutti wool, Burberrys' and unknown made in England

Wow dude. Cash money.

amazing how easily people in this thread seem to forget that this isn't their forum, or their thread...

DM7 started a separate forum for contributing members. In the end, it didn't work out as people were just cross-posting from here. I think the website disappeared shortly after a number of people stopped posting.

Maybe all the lurkers took notes and had a field day. We should make this thread private. You can only read and pots with a password...shog[1].gif

How would you have gotten in then puzzled.gif Oh yea, you wouldn't have.. it's the Internet, take a deep breath and relax.

+1.

When I first started surfing (just one of my myriad hobbies beyond mothy, nitrate-infused wool) a guy saw me eager to catch every wave. He pulled me aside and said "hey, you gotta share. Don't worry. The ocean will always make more waves."

To some extent, and from some perspectives, we play a zero sum game. But personally I'd rather have empty hands and a full heart than the opposite.

That said: Keep the faq off my lawn.

Plus the other thread duplicated this one. I know there was some confusion of what to post where and why do double the work.

Lol, don't mind me, as I was talking nonsense and trolling. This is the "interwebs" after all. Please don't take everything I say seriously. There's plenty to go around as we are all from different regions of the country. But just to answer your obvious rhetorical question, Brian, new people COULD be invited to the forum on a referral basis. But again, that's just me talking nonsense. After all, had the OGs such as J or Tokyo Slim made this thread private (doubt this will be fine with SF), non of us would of being here and dare I say, a big player like Spoo probably won't be where he's at today. nest.gif

I do want to say one thing though, lurkers, please feel free to post and share your hauls on here. Don't be afraid to get ridiculed. We all learn and are still learning. Peace!

Pretty sure spoo got big without the thrift thread, but I'd rather see some hauls than debate that.

Whoa. Stay warm, East Coasters. I'll see if I can pick up your slack out here on the West Coast, GM-H.

Last night I reached my first entry on this thread after starting to read from the the initial post a few months back. I guess I can finally stop picking up all those Christian Dior ties.

All you folks hit by this storm....be safe.

And be careful shovelling. That's heavy snow - heartache inducing.
