Thanks Barrel! I definitely should post more, however I don't have much time to do so! Sorry, but nothing in a 40 brotha! Unfortunately, when I thrift I typically only pick up stuff that fits me (unless it's way to crazy to leave behind!). facepalm.gif

When you find nice stuff like that TOO small for you, you know who to call nest.gif

Are you guys just taking the yellow stickers off cheaper stuff?? Seriously WTF lol8%5B1%5D.gif

Hah!  I had my eye on that orphan blazer (no pants) for some time...was originally $499 (and tagged "compare to $1000"); then $249, then $199, then $99....when it hit $49 I figured - what the hell - might as well pick it up.  I think it had been passed up because 1) no pants, and 2) people didn't know what to make of the "open" sleeve cuffs, not realizing there was a packet of buttons in the pocket so one could have it tailored and the buttons placed as desired.

If for you, grab some different buttons off ebay and you're set.

Any stuff you find like that is worth picking up whatever the size. That would all trade well here. Got any 42's? fing02[1].gif

I had an Oxxford tux I sent over to Spoo for consignment in a 42 a while back... but nothing in that size brotha! I'll keep you in mind as well! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

BTW, Spoo is one of the most stand-up guys here! If you guys need any consigning at all.... he's the one to do it! Thanks for everything Spoo!

Today's haul.  None of this available unfortunately, but this is a brag thread after all.  Also, does anyone wear a 40S with a 32 waist?  Picked up a Tom James Holland & Sherry suit but the jacket sleeves are too short and have surgeon's cuffs so I can't alter it.  Beautiful suit, but it doesn't fit my gorilla arms.  Would like to trade.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Sweaters

Brioni 100% cashmere - that white spot towards the bottom is just fuzz.  Tag looks vintage.

Peter Millar Silk/Cotton/Cashmere - pretty much perfect/NWOT

Peter Millar 100% cashmere half-zip.  Similar to above.  Seems NWOT.

Talbott BOC - been looking for a simple brown tie

Vintage BB 100% wool - love this tie

Seaward & Stern - Thick and heavy.  Love the colors.

Also, long overdue giant shout out to gmmcl for the proxy on that super SICK RLBL cashmere shawl cardigan. Something I've been looking for for a long, long time. (Pic obvious does it no justice)

Hopefully you won't run into 80% of the cities going about their everyday business like nothing ever happened like they did during the last snowstorm here in Minnesota. I thought I'd have the whole store to myself. Boy was I wrong...

Yeah, I really wish it fit me but I'm glad I got to pass a deal on and give it a good home! Enjoy!

+1. Really wish I could get mine to look like that (and maintain it),

This. Don't let the diffusion talk scare you away. Z Zegna is a pretty recent label (came about in 05 or 06) so styling will be modern/desirable for some time yet. That and the cuts and fabrics are great.

WOW!

As for me, I was out in the fields for a good 9 hours today and all that was scavenged was an older Brioni tie for $1. plain.gif

Maybe all the lurkers took notes and had a field day. We should make this thread private. You can only read and pots with a password...shog[1].gif

+1,000,000.  Not sure how the thread would welcome in new users though.  Would it be a referral basis?

Hey remember when we started a separate forum?

Those were the day.

That would be interesting. Would this then be the gateway thread to B&S?

Wasn't this tried awhile ago? Didn't work out. Screening, it seems to me, leads to stagnation with such a tiny community.
Plus the other thread duplicated this one. I know there was some confusion of what to post where and why do double the work.
