WWII Era US Marines Uniform Jacket (Small as ****...measures like a 33S)
Wasn't there a movie about that...Small Soldiers

Oh, hey, there it is. Very cool! I don't believe I've ever seen one in a thrift, only at surplus stores, and maybe on eBay.

IN OTHER NEWS, if any of you THREAD HOMIES can rock a SIZE 11.5 SHOE, please get at me. I've got a very sleek bad-ass pair of Florsheim Royal Imperial something or anothers to mail out; the uppers are in great, supple condition (they kind of look like Park Aves, but sleeker), but there's a hole in each sole. They'll need a topy, at least. Anyway, if anyone wants them for cost of shipping, PM me. (Just please be a thread homie. I get slightly weirded out when people with a zero post count surface for these kind of things  ).

i cant stand the tucked in look but that looks pretty good (no ****)

Me too; I'd only been thrifting for 3 or 4 months when I found it and it was an ugly-as-**** Talbott tie in some random non-chain thrift shop. I wonder if I have a picture somewhere...
Also, cross-posting from the SW&D WAYWT thread:

Banana Republic, $12 at Buffalo Exchange
Dockers D1, $12 at Marshalls
Allen Edmonds, $8 at Goodwill.
Vostok watch, $35 from eBay

Nice rig. I am stunned how Craigslist, etc -- and general brand ignorance, sort of like what we're doing in the clothing category -- makes good sounding audio gear available for dirt cheap. I think the MP3 and the total domination of overseas (I won't say CHinese, because there are some decent Chinese goods out there, and they are by no means the only offender -- although they do offend quite a bit) goods has recalibrated the average person's music playback expectations.
Adcom? What's Adcom? Paradigm speakers? What are THEY? They are available used for what you'd used to pay for bargain basement Crutchfield starter rigs, that's what. Along with our thrift fit pix we should apparently put put pix of thrift (I'll count Craigslist) rigs, too, ha
Furthermore, the rise of the surround system (ugh, so many of them have garbage speakers) has liberated some very very nice stereo hi-fi gear out there in the used world. Also, for those who like it loud (like me in my basement lifting weights, ha!) the rise of the digital DJ system has liberated some sweet analog boards/power amps/EV speakers PA systems...
smile.gif
I wasn't going to buy one, really, but $250 for 600 watts a channel with a Crown amp and these monstrous EVs that sound crisp and sweet...I've got some beef behind my iPod when I start doing the bench presses.
Our house is loaded with pre owned audio gear, all 3 floors, with AirPort Expresses. This is science fiction crap I dreamed of as a teenager. I don't have the vinyl fetish, but I understand/appreciate you people who do.
+1 on what was said above re: the salability and lack of listenability of Bang & Olufsen. What a scam, those systems were. Worth a lot more in someone else's hands than your own. IF you can flip them and pocket good money, that is the way to go. They sure look great, they always did.

I don't think tucked-in is a "look." It's just wearing clothes.

I feel ya man, I am 225 right now too. It ******* sucks. Gotta lose 45 before I am comfortable. Even worse...I am going on a cruise in 4 weeks. The buffets are going to add 10 pounds. Guess it will be t-shirts in the pool. lol

strange days today...so i have been thrifting for about ten years now and i have never EVER seen anything by Olivetti.today i find two items two hours apart and totally apart sections of town.
first a rare vintage Olivetti office chair for tewnty bucks (check out the serial number #515) full leather and chrome.and then the big one,a super collectible Olivetti typewriter (Dora) complete with case.
these go from 400-600 guys the Valentine being the most expensive one.if you ever find these in red, blue, orange or yellow pick them up,its money in the bank (also for $20) i think the all white one is the most expensive one.speaking of all white, this was basically the Macbook of its generation,if you had one of these you were the ****.
also picked up a mic for a buck, the Turner THREE PLUS in mint condition, these go up to a hundred bucks.
my point is igents that theer is a lot of money in thrifts otehr then clothes, you just gotta look (and have some luck)
