+1 Z Zegna suits sell just fine if you're looking to flip them. I'd pick a Z Zegna up over a old label mainline anyday. The cut of the new Z Zegna I have seen has been very nice.

This suit below sold for $225 and I had the same model "city" cut orphen solid gray jacket sell for $75

Agreed. The cut isn't bad, but given a choice, I'd wear something else. Having said that, I've had great luck with them on ebay. I remember one that I sold that was black with pink and purple pinstripes. It was terrible. It sold well nod[1].gif

Pretty sure they are both store samples. Look & feel NWTO (you can just tell after seeing 1000's of jackets new and used), front pockets basted, basting thread on rear vents evident (not shut though), evidence of glued on tag that prob read "sample" which was removed but glue is evident. To list or not to list NWOT....that is the question stirpot.gif

Handwarmer pockets. Who made it? What size?

Probably made up for the store by Nettletons (RIP manufacturer) aka top score.

Seems to me to be made by Stetson Shoe Co. (who at one time owned the rights to the Banister name) based on this photo of a Stetson pair of Alligator loafers (60s):

Can anyone place a date on this Viyella by Gant label? It still had the pin holding the collar in place!

+1 on the positive Z Zegna comments. Zegna's "diffusion" line is head and shoulders above those of others. In fact, I wouldn't quite term Z Zegna "diffusion" so much as a "secondary" line. In that regard, the comparison to "Chaps" wasn't correct at all, imo. I'd say something like this instead: "Ermenegildo Zegna is to Z Zegna what Isaia is to Gianluca." Even though Isaia craps all over Zegna, the logical statement holds, I think.

Also picked up an LL Bean down jacket (XL) and a Harris Tweed coat. The Bean coat is in like new condition!

I thought I'd mention that I did something that I never thought I'd do...start a blog. I have a number of topics I'd like to cover, including traditional Austrian clothing and street shots (both atrocious and tasteful). If there's something you'd like to see, let me know, I'll try to keep it updated regularly.

I received a number of PMs after I posted some photos from my last Viennese thrifting trip, so I'll probably include more photos on the next trip that I take (possibly next week).

Link is in my signature.

I'm not thrifting much lately as I get ready to move but had to get out today. Pained me to leave this behind at the store...had three or four pulls.

I recently picked up (and flipped) some heavy cavalry twill pants from the Z Zegna line. They were solidly made and I would have kept for my own use if they were my size.

Now what about the Zegna Sport line? I've seen a few pieces but my impression is that the line isn't that good nor quite as easy to flip.

Isaia 7-Fold Tie
GA Tie
RLPL Navy Tie
Billy Reid Coat
Billy Reid Henley
Eton Shirt

I'm not sure, I've done fine with Zegna Sport. It was my understanding that it was made to in the same factories, but it was more casual. I've found a number of Zegna Sport polo shirts, shorts and vacation wear. The name alone seems to carry it for me and if I remember correctly, the quality was great.
