Right back at cha homie. Always nice to meet up with a member and have him turn out to be a really cool dude. Next time you're in town, we will have to do some actual thrifting. And keep an eye on your mail for an impending package. cheers.gif

Stopped by the Sally Ann to pick-up a something for V day coming up and there was at least 10 Hugo Boss suits - Large to XL as tagged - full on double-breasted, two button, three button, the works, all $19.99 but none worked right except an 'Einstein' jacket that was a smidge too long. Half price sale on the 23rd. Will hold out for haul to flip.

Ended up with a beautiful custom jacket made in Saudi Arabia and this Zegna wool/rayon navy blue herringbone jacket with metal Zegna buttons. 52R. Made in Mexico.

Looking to get a date/decade for it - vintage or not? Thanks, Vlassis

You've got a Z Zegna...the diffusion line. Not vintage.

Had a dream that I was looking through ties and found a bunch of Hermes. What's happening to me?

Older Ricci jacket, still worth picking up though. A lot of Ricci's tailoring is made by Saint Andrews and is pretty well sought after by a select few gentleman. May be worth getting moth hole fixed before trading or selling. Depends...

Also a bust up suit is no good to take. A couple of small moth holes may be tolerable since they can be mended, ripped seams can be resewn at no cost (it is an easy fix any self respecting person could do). However, large holes, tears in fabric, bubbling, awkward shape due to laundry, and general filth (of scat, vomit, cum or pee stain variety) = leave it there and let some other flipper get hep C digging through crap.

As an add on, if you think about it, second hand clothes are quite disgusting until they are cleaned. We all know that guys drip pee in their boxer shorts even if you shake that thing around to near wank. We all know that guys fart so there is that aspect. Who likes sweat beads? If is a very fair assumption that the former owner sweated through his shirt into the inner lining to absorb. Add in dead skin cells, old food / drink spills, and pubic hairs and we willingly buy this stuff to wear. We are filthy rotten animals but what the eye does not see...... That is it, bottom line, we choose to blank this out ....... only explanation .....

Couple of things....

I ordered this cap on the cheap. It's in great condition and nearly new but it's tiny for me. I'm going to put it back on ebay unless someone wants it for cost + my cost of shipping to get it from Germany + shipping to the US. I doubt anyone here will want it though as I just checked ebay.com and you can find them for a great price. Here is a size 59 for $36:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Borsalino-newsboy-GATSBY-IVY-DRIVING-CAP-Hat-Size-59-CM-wool-/261163860680?pt=US_Hats&hash=item3cce9442c8

It's a size 55 (US6 7/8, UK6 3/4).

I didn't know the brand, they're NWT, retail for €164. If anyone's girlfriend/wife wants them, cost + shipping! They're an EU size 36/38, which google tells me is about a size 6. Exact measurements available, just PM me. Really funky details such as the buttons, stitching and flared legs.

Next two are available, but you likely won't recognize the brands. They both have gorgeous fabrics. If you have interest, again, I'm happy to do a cost + shipping, but I must have lost my mind when I picked them up as they were €15/each. I'd personally love to wear them.

First jacket is from a tailor/shop in my city. Loro Piana fabric, handwritten tag says it's 90/10 wool/cashmere. Side vents.

Custom made, measurements:
Armpit to armpit: 22in
Sleeves: 23in
Shoulders: 19.5in
Length: 29in

AppleMark

Next one also has cool fabric and chocolate suede elbow patches. Tagged an EU48 and has side vents. The first picture shows the most accurate color depiction.

Measurements:
Armpit to Armpit: 21.5in
Sleeves: 25in
Shoulders: 19in
Length: 29in

Finally, I grabbed this cool thing. I grabbed it thinking there must be a segment of the population that collects tobacco related items or alcohol related items. This combines both vices.

Banister Alligator Loafers (Not Available) - There's next no info online about Banister shoes. What I did find was here on Styleforum. They were apparently very high quality, but went out of business in the 30s. After that the name changed hands several times. These seem to have been made during a period under Stetson as the nail pattern on the heel matches some Stetson up on classicshoesformen...unless someone knows different?

Frontier Wools Short Sleeve Wool Shirt
- Another one I can't find any info on. Quality made (to my eyes) in Japan. Such a strange thing to make a heavy wool shirt short sleeve. Fits perfect though.

Something to consider should you ever come across an old, out of date Kiton suit that you're on the fence about buying:

Ciro Paone (Kiton founder):
"Bring me a Kiton suit that we made 30 years ago and I will give you a new one in return. I’m very sorry that I hardly have any pieces from our beginnings."

Not sure if the offer still stands, or how you would even go about contacting them, but...

Careful what you dream about when it comes to thrifting...

I had a dream a few months ago that I found a GoreTex jacket.

It happened two days ago. I scored two GoreTex shells (Patagonia and North Face) in my size and a women's down jacket from North Face.
