The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Page 4145

Wow.. I went in both TJ Maxx and Marshalls this weekend and all I could find was PRL from China (and other Chinese made stuff too).  Did see one RLPL winter coat "on sale" for only $2000.  Not likely.

Brooks Brothers tuxedo.  Looks pretty recent to me, no signs of wear.  Had to tear the store apart to find the matching pants.

Saw this RL logo the other day in the thread, is it any good?  Also, 100% cashmere Brooks Brothers sweater, made in Great Britain.  Debating about sending that one to the 'bay, it's so freaking warm.

Couple of Charles Tyrwhitts.

Thomas Pink and a Battistoni.  Never seen a Battistoni in the wild, and I can't recall whether that's a good pick or not.

John Varvatos.  Again, a first for me, hopefully a good pick.

Garrick Anderson.  Never heard of it before, but seemed to be decent construction.

Paul Smith London, made in Italy.

Also grabbed a pair of Bally loafers, definitely need some work.

That Battistoni is the pick of the litter, though I'm sure I'll get yelled at for not sufficiently respecting the Varvatos. Either way, nice find.

My haul from yesterday. Stands out as everything was my size. Left some various stained/damaged ties and a very nice Kilgour, French, and Stanbury pinstripe, DB orphan. Sigh. (not pictured is a PRL polo, again my size). Charvet and Dunhill are my fave tie makers, and these are firsts of both in the wild for me. LB is also a (non-e) thrift first.

Ties: Burma Bibas, Luciano Barbera, Mariano Rubinacci, Charvet, Dunhill, BB Makers (x3)
Sweater: No-name but crazy soft cashmere sweater
Jacket: No-name tailor, Loro Piana fabric SC. Fits nicely and nice pattern. Ties (Click to show)

GA stuff is very nice. Bergdorf Goodman is the only place I know that sells them in the US.

Damn Chet, that is a amazing haul. All around great pieces.

It fits me perfectly and unlike other older wool, there is no hole to be found! Pristine!

The three buttons down front and one at each sleeve are those folded leather pieces. Soft and comfy wool! Not for sale until next year if ever. Lordie I love my flannel!

Oh, also got a pair of Levi's from 1978  New with tags attached at selling price of $14.00

Chet and Wes, amazing as usual!!!!

I've been lurking here about a year.  I figure it's about time for me to make my first post.  These are my favorite finds that fit me from the past few weeks.

Cucinelli shirt

Black velvet blazer

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I believe this is a Belvest tag.  Can anyone confirm or deny?

A pair of nice Aris hangers.

Top to bottom:  Borrelli, Barbera, Belvest

Peak lapel tuxedo.  Unvented.  Looks to be in mint condition.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Brioni.  Certainly a grail find for me in my size.

Snagged a couple pieces from Cable Car Clothiers to add to my collection. Knock-around shirt, and this killer shetland I'm going to have taken in a bit. LOVE the color.

Viyellas for me:

Five minutes before the SVDP closed, only time for the jackets:

While I hit the SVDP, my brother was waiting for me at Goodwill, and figured he'd thrift a little till I arrived. When I see him, he's got an armful of Hilditch & Key & Thresher & Glenny shirts. Yesterday he was asking me over an aisle if Towncraft was any good, so I'm pretty damn proud of his improvement at this point. Attention to detail needs some work though - all had minor fraying at the cuffs and collar tips ffffuuuu.gif Back they go.

Seems I lost the photo, but also grabbed a great fitting Oxxford Clothes shirt icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

This is interesting. Barney's Warehouse carry Isaia skinny jeans for $200. Size 38 for the big boys.
