Oh yeah, can't forget Loro Piana shirts.  Their MOP buttons are awesomely thick like Fray's/Borrelli's, and their fabrics are amazing as well.

I went through the thread of Italian labels but didn't see this one.  Anyone know who made this for Brooks Brothers?  Guessing around 2004-2006, but that's only a guess.

Thanks!

Two days in a row of hitting the used gear sales at REI... We hit up two of the local stores.

Plenty of haul... Roughly $3400 at retail value. We paid $720. Just about all of it was stuff we actually needed.

The most expensive item was a North Face Destiny Down Jacket for my wife (worth $260 at retail). The best item for her is definitely the Vasque Boots, though she also needed a backpacking pack and a warmer sleeping bag. The best item for me is the Denali Fleece Jacket.

Here's the list, and yes, this is entirely brag worthy...

Marmot Precip Jacket (for the wife)

The North Face Destiny down jacket (wife)

Sierra Designs TOV Down Jacket (me)

The North Face Denali Fleece Hoodie (me)

Patagonia Snowshot ski/snowboard pants (me)

Woolrich Glenwood Throw Blanket (us)

Coleman Steel Cooler (us) -about to get its first use when I go pick up beers for the Super Bowl Party!

Mountain Hardwear Lamina +0 Sleeping Bag (wife)

Osprey Kestrel 48 Backpacks (2 -one for each of us)

Deuter ACT lite 60+10 SL Backpack (wife)

Keen Newport Sandals (wife)

Vibram Fivefingers KSO -going up on Ebay

Vibram Fivefingers Komodo Sport (one for me and one for a friend)

Vibram Fivefingers (unknown model -wife)

Mountain Hardwear Petralla Capris (wife -for climbing)

Scarpa Rock Climbing Shoes (2 -one for each of us)

Salomon XA 3D Ultra Shoes (me)

Seirus Fleece Liner Gloves (wife)

Vasque Bitterroot GTX Hiking Boots (wife)

And some pics of the haul.

Made it out again today, but did not find too much. Unfortunately the thrift store right by my house just closed.

Available where indicated.

Available. First Harris Tweed, but too small for me. Looks like an older label? No size and have not measured yet but I would guess a 38R.

Available. Armani collezioni, fully canvassed. 44R

Available. Brooks Brothers Cords. 35/32

Incredibly dry thrifting yesterday & today - I came home with only 7 or 8 items after hitting 8 or 9 shops.  And almost none of it is brag-worthy.  Here are a few from Goodwill(s) - nothing available:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Allen Edmonds Tivoli sandals, made in Italy and in surprisingly nice condition for having been at a Goodwill.

First time found in the wild for me - Hilditch & Key shirt:

Vintage United Colors Of Benetton argyle sweater, made in Italy, mohair blend...alas, it's a chick's sweater:

It occurred to me that Sundays are slow on this thread. Is it because most of us are tied up doing ebay related stuff or is it because the Super Bowl happens to be tonight?

I'm hoping that the presence of

will make for some good finds for all of us hitting the racks today.

I did not know these existed but now need a pair.

Also, can I wear socks in these?  I am part German.

I quickly checked my post to see if I had made a typo when I wrote "super bowl." I was relieved to find that I hadn't. It's on TV here, though I have no idea how many people are watching it. My brother-in-law is because he loves American football.

That's the worst. You can always spot Germans in holiday locales with their socks and sandals. I like it when they pair them with a bag around the waist and a vest that has 82 (empty) pockets, as if they're going to do some quick fly fishing right after they're done looking at the local museum.

Not much to show for today: only 2 RG shirts. However one is in SUPER MEGA RARE Size M. I actually did a double take because I always find RGs on the far end of the racks, where the XXLs congregate. biggrin.gif

I had excellent finds at the one store I went to, over a dozen nice shirts, a recent Brooks Brothers tux, and a Pendleton board shirt because I seem to remember that someone on here collects them. But watching Super Bowl now, so pics will follow.
