I'll try to start getting some more pictures up of stuff I've picked up lately. Some suits today from 2 shops. All are available but had to pay above thrift prices on some.

BBGF with Loro Piana Super 120's tagged a 46R but I believe its closer to a 44.

Lol. I think it involves the same process as the shirt whitening method. Although, you may need to leave them in the solution for a few extra days.

Anyone know how old this label is? The VFG didn't give up but one tag reference for Lee.

I don't think you intended to start a debate on the merits of using proper grammar, but since I started the side conversation, I'll offer my piece.

I understand that he's young and this is an informal platform, which is why no one is asking people to use "could have" instead of "could of." * I'm not suggesting that people learn the difference between "then" and "than."** I'm not asking anyone to avoid ending their sentence in a preposition.***

I just offered a bit of advice in order to help. It would be the same for any member, DM7, Spoo, et al.

Again, I didn't mean to blatantly insult anyone nor did I intend to start "Thrift Thread Gun Debate, 2013."

*Could of is often the mistaken transliteration of "could've," which is the contraction for "could have." In nearly all cases, could have is correct.

** "Then" marks time sequence and often means "next." "Than" shows the comparative. z.B: I will eat lunch and then I will go to work. I am taller than him.

*** Not a concrete rule in English. However, prepositions are best avoided at the end of sentences in order to avoid confusion and leave a sentence open-ended. z.B.: "Where are you at?" becomes "Where are you?"

I'm in the midst of doing ebay stuff, so I thought I'd post a few pictures of my Kent brush and shave set that I referenced yesterday.

Going to go ahead and spoiler, lots of pics from today.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Time for my favorite show

(cue The Who)

First up, some stuff I picked up earlier in the week.  Orvis down vest, several sweaters: Pringle, Pendleton, Barbour left to right.

Couple of ties, BB and a PRL wool. Nothing special, but they fit my style.

RLPL linen pants, made in Italy.

Now the fun stuff.  Oxxford blazer.

Brookstweed.

Two pairs of Incotex.  Incochino and Chinolino.

Bills Khakis cords.

These next three blew my mind. I rarely ever see J Press stuff here.  Sport coat and dress slacks.

aaaaand Pressidential.

Paid a little bit more than my regular thrift prices for these, but being a 50% off day at that thrift and totally stoked at seeing any J Press, worth it.

How'd I do?

Wow that Presidential suit is awesome!! J.Press is always on my priority list however consignment shops usually mark it way up. So just with that I would say you had an awesome weekend of thrift!

Also, sweet RLPL Linen pants.

Nice! RLPL anything is always a win in my book as I have yet to find a place that it's sold in Austria. I'm sure it's sold in Germany, but it's not something I plan on finding.

Is that J Press suit wool? It looks like it has an interesting texture to it.

Pretty sure this isn't made by Holland & Sherry, and is instead just Holland and Sherry fabric.  It's probably made by Tom James.  Check the breast pocket content label...it probably looks like this:

There's no material tag, but it feels like wool.  All of the suits available on the J Press site are, so I'm going to go with that.  Here's a closer picture of the fabric.

I thought I was the only one who had this problem. My daughter LOVES the hide and seek in thrifts. She waits at the end of the rack that Im flipping in and buys me 10m to scan. lol8[1].gif

BTW, been away for a bit, had a back injury that was a mother to recover from, but Im at 95% and looking forward to contributing again. Also standing up and getting out of the house smile.gif

Made up for lost time and went out for 7 hours today. Paying for it now, but just took my drugs. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

No pics yet, but Ive got some pretty sweet stuff, including a 10lb Schott leather, 70s AMF Harley Davidson leather vest, BB 100% camel, amazing outerwear, and cool Roundtree and Yorke barn coat, amongst a lot of other stuff Ill totally trade on (some of them wink.gif ).

Anyhow, hope you have all been well!

Is it the photo angle or is the Oxxford a sport/athletic cut?  Shoulders look huge and the waist is drawn in a bit more than usual.

Looks great!
