Nice pickups; scarf looks good, man.  My local Marshall's is like a post-apocalyptic wasteland compared to the seas of RLPL, RLBL, and other good stuff during the holiday season.  I headed back today to proxy some Dents gloves for someone here (no mediums left at $15, but larges still available in black for $24, can still proxy).  Found Pantherella merino sized regular, will take pics tomorrow, all possibly available: green mid-calf, OTC in tan and purple.  Passed on 2pairs cotton black below-the-calf at $10 each.  I passed some wearable Versace narrow ties for $60, but I did find this cool Moschino tie I almost picked up for myself:

At $40 I couldn't justify it, but if someone wants a proxy, let me know.

I had no idea that this was a special edition, still thinking I am glad I passed on it for $29.

Most thrift stores only bother looking up the obviously stand out items though

For example, most of the stores here blow through so many shoes that the only way a pair is giong to get marked up is if it's A. nearly new or B. obviously Gucci or something

Local thrift store gets alterations rejections from Zegna retailer, so essentially brand new but the hem on the pant or sleeve on the jacket was too short, etc.. picked up a pair of navy Zegna trousers for $75. They have a black pair I may go back for.

Faconnable shirt, PRL braided belt ('98, w/ tag), 1970s Tori Richard shirt (a bit too small).

When I see that rayxlui is viewing the thread, I can't help but not post any clothes because it's not going to matter as soon as he posts his.

Thanks! They look better than I expected. Then I went back and realized you specified 9D and not 10D. ffffuuuu.gif Phooey.

Meanwhile, oh those funny gods of thrift.

I have begun to look in earnest for some things in a larger size for a friend. After all, whenever I look for stuff that fits ME, I find nothing but XL, 17½ and the like in great brands that I just leave behind. Now that I WANT them, I find MULTIPLE deadstock NWOT Brooks Brothers gingham checks (marked up to $9 ffffuuuu.gif ) in Small. I never find Smalls.

I ponied up the $27. The friend can wait another week.

Not surprising God would have a thrift store, after all Jesus saves!

XD (no offense to anyone; I'm Christian).

I have to ask... Out here, I may occasionally complain of a lack of higher quality stuff (e.g. In the last year I've found 2 Brioni,  5 Zegna,  5 Canali, and 1 Isaia SCs in thrift stores).  Only found one full suit from those brands, and it had serious urine stains on the pants.  But I generally get these from $1-$5 each - occasionally, I have to pay $10-12.  The thought of $75 slacks makes me cringe - I see those (preowned, not NWT) pants going for $20-$40 on ebay.  What is the average price for a SC like the ones I listed in the big cities (LA, Chicago, NYC)?  $40-50?

Starting to think that maybe the grass isn't really greener over there... :)

Thanks,

-sn0wman
