lol, I know where you picked that up. I passed on that, a little too expensive for me.

I'd normally say its way too much, but I got $15 off.

Nice finds dudes!!!

Music Screed: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I find it in turns hilarious and sad that the kids today don't know who the Stone Roses are or why they are headlining Coachella. Hilarious, because they're freaking out. Sad because I guess that makes me old because I wrote a review of the 20th Anniv. remaster and interviewed the producer -- who is really, really old (he worked on Sgt Pepper & Dark Side of the Moon...)

Rare day off, being granted hall passes from both boss and wife on a Friday. Naturally I hit the Connecticut Thrifting Grounds and things were hopping down there (Zegna, Oxxford jackets, some other cool stuff! Even found a killer Zegna 48R suit for a pal who needs it for interviews.) Won't bore you with those details, just some of the greatest hits.

1) Is this a common Corneliani label? Never seen it. Is it diffusion? I know it's not fake, there's the Barney's label on other side to validate.

2) Barrie Ltd. Custom Grades. I think these are a nice find? Read about them some on SF and elsewhere...this one store had, like 8 pairs but most were pretty beat and not my size but these will look pretty good I hope after the customary post-thrift elbow grease...

3) Wild-crazy black w/red jacquard clubbin' shirt with...french cuffs?

4) I found this 38S mint mint mint chocolate corduroy BB SC. Too cool to be unappreciated by eBay bidders. Anyone want to swap me for it? If you have some nice 9D shoes...

5) This was made in China, unfamiliar label, but look at the composition (!!!!!) I passed on it because I am tired of buying speculative stuff and rethrifting. Was I a fool to pass?

All these amazing SW&D stores in the area explain how the stuff ends up in the local thrifts.

On another note, why must women not care about second-hand high-end tailored clothes?? Men's Kiton would be in the hundreds by now. Women's Kiton cashmere blazer & Navy 3 pc suit - 2 days to go and sitting pretty at $11.50 and $4.99. ffffuuuu.gifbaldy[1].gif

If they were a zero, I'd be all over those.

Finds from today. Best part was when I got to the register and the cashier told me all winter stuff was 30% off today. Jackets and sweaters were all cheaper than I was anticipating! bounce2.gif

NWOT Merrell Mandalay in Dark Khaki. US 13

Mountain Hardware Sz L (claim pending)

No Face. Sz M

Filson Shelter Cloth Bush Hat. Sz M

NWT BB Polo. Keeper unless someone wants it. Sz L. Gave me daydreams of summer on a cold and windy Minnesota day.

NWT Icebreaker x Moosejaw Mountaineering L/S light sweater. XXL but fits like an XL

Eddie Bauer 3 button sweater. Been after one like this for awhile. Keeper

TR jeans for the bay and a RL Golf sweater for the wife. Sweater is really cool. Black w/ silver trim.

Mint Bose 201 Series II speakers

And I couldn't pass this up for my music room library. Printed in 1985. Actually went pretty in-depth and covered a lot of non-mainstream artists.

Picked up a pair of RL Purple Label (they're definitely genuine) from a thrift shop today for £30. Brand new and unworn. Now I just need to keep my eyes open for a matching jacket and I'm good to go!

Unsure the Attolini houndstooth suit tag is authentic never seen one like that.

Oh yes also picked up a Paul and Shark jacket thingy mijiggy.

Is Paul and Shark good pickup stuff? I liked the jacket irrespective on the brand, just curious.

There seems to be quite a bit that is knocked off. That being said I was in one of their stores in Portofino once and was impressed with some of the outerwear. Seems like a colorful Canali in its best light.

I went to Indianapolis today with fear that DanM had cleaned it out on his trip. I still managed to find quite a bit of stuff. I also experienced something that I remember DM7 posting about awhile ago which leads me to believe Indy has centralized distribution. The first store had about 6 Astor & Black shirts a couple of Ike Behars and a Uniqlo shirt. Next stop had a couple recent Tom James Royal Classic shirt (very recent with just the small blue "royal classic" tag a Uniqlo shirt and one Astor & Black. A couple stores later a huge amount of TJ Royal Classic a handful of Uniqlo shirts and maybe 5-6 Ike Behars. So I guess if there are any locals of that area on here who find something nice at one store it might be a good idea to make a day out of it.

stuff I picked up:
a couple Ben Silver shirts
vintage Brook Brothers merino made in Italy sweater
a tame Robert Graham
recent Zegna linen shirt
a Thomas Pink 170's shirt
recent Valentino Roma shirt
older Zegna "performance" SC nicest one of this vintage I've found
RLPL tie
a handful of BB ties
a single Zegna tie
Hilditch & Key tie
mint older Southwick suit

I have a couple questions though. I found a shirt that has Holland & Sherry embroidered in the back of the neck and no tags. Is it likely a Tom James?

And I found the Drakes tie at TJ Maxx. Should it have a "handmade in England" tag? Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Check them deets boys (Click to show)

I didn't even see the collar in store.

Picky Picky, and what's this... un-opened main button holes... On porpoise.

Sick cuffs, 3 button with two working... One cuff has buttons 2 and 3, the other 1 and 3... Need some mates.

Obey

Last but not least. Damn how'd I only get the edge of the tag...

Mmm hmm.

Confirms that the regular vultures at the store know next to nothing, which explains how I find anything there considering they sit and wait for every new rack/cart to come out. I'm sure the shit eating grin on my face was undeniable, as were my saucer sized eyes.

WHAT'S DAT JACKET?

I sold a Feathered Friends parka for $250 in 12 hours.  No secret that they're the best down jacket a real mountaineering head would buy.  No Thom Browne/Moncler smoke and mirrors marketing needed.

Yes, I've seen that tag on Drake's before. The ones I've almost cop had it on the side of the tip. I've also seen similar tags on RLPL ties. Prolly Drake's for RLPL. Good stuff!
