I thrifted that precise Gant for Barneys Coop madras and wear it weekly in the summertime (and occasionally in what passes for winter in LA). One of my favorite shirts. Amazing haul overall!

Seize sur vVingt are an NYC store and brand doing mostly MTM and a few off-the-rack shirts. Really nice stuff, though probably not the absolute finest money can buy. No idea how it does on eBay, but that's my size ... PM incoming!

Pleasure is all mine, and please post a fit pic of that dinner jacket! And I doubt I'll pull that off again; it was pure synchronicity.

I in turn picked up a sweet Corneliani wool/cashmere jacket from JL3212, who was a great guy to trade with and packed the jacket (and some shoes I bought from him also) like a pro. Fit pics once back from tailor.

5/5 WOULD 3-WAY AGAIN.

Noted. I'm glad I'm not looking for mid century furniture at the moment because he is dominating those pieces. That being said pulled a few pairs of shoes the other day and popped 3 cherries...

Has anyone (Hans??) heard of Rover and Lakes? I found a nice leather jacket in my size...

I also picked up a pair of Ecco shoes and a Coach belt for myself.

+1...I don't own any Dobbs, but they are well regarded, especially as Cesar noted, the older stuff. I haven't really looked into dating them, but a wild guess would be a bit newer on yours. Again, I don't have the knowledge of those, but it's a guess.

As far as Rover and Lakes is concerned, I've never heard of them...possibly a German house label? They turn up on eBay, watches, shirts, jackets, but don't go for a lot. Sorry I can't help!

Thrift gods cruel -- not only did they send Messrs. Fezza and Perry Ellis after me last night...but

ooh!

slightly frayed -- but frayed nonetheless -- collars and cuffs ffffuuuu.gif

and then me first mabitex!

half effing polyester.

I did manage to find a j press tux shirt perfectly measured to my size.

Justifying, therefore, putting together a tux from thrift stores!

My tux shirt has no buttons. Need a recommendation: Who has the studs?
1) One of you? PM.
2) Do you ever see them at thrift stores (I never looked, although when I was accumulating cufflinks by the dozen pairs...never saw them)?
3) I see some on eBay and I bet if I hit the Rack they'd have some...

Another dumb question: Must the cufflinks match the studs or can you have generically black onyx or whatever studs and fancy cufflinks?

You can match or not....it's up to you. At least try to match the metals, silver links/silver studs. I'd go for black onyx studs and some sort of low-key silver cufflinks. If it's your only pair or you don't wear black tie often, simpler is better.

Is anyone here a fan of the truly loud animal print? The VV style where it's so fine that it's practically just a geometric I can get on board with, but the other... Passed yesterday on a BB Makers tie of monkeys/gorillas lifting weights, very strange.
