Well, you could always get the heels replaced.

Edit: I didn't realize grendel already answered that.

Do you have opportunities to wear olive green cargos? Does it get really muddy on the trail to Troll City?

I just ask because I haven't been recently and don't know what's in fashion there these days.

Its been a day of firsts.

Firstly, Sarcasm must escape some people, particularly when it comes to a thrift store bragging thread and 2$ RLPL Made in Italy Wool Cargo Pants (It was half off day everything at the local private school thrift, so they would have otherwise been $4).  If that's Trolling behavior, Paint me Blue and Call me Baby.

Actually when I was in the store looking at these things, I could have almost cried as I'm a 34-35" and these are 30" waist.  First Ever RLPL in the wild.

As for Scotch and Soda, had no clue.  I've heard of them but have never seen them, not even in a store (don't bother going much these days to do any real shopping).  But, there is a first time for everything and at $2 they were cheaper than a Red Bull.

Also, there was a beat-to-hell pair of 10.5 B/D Alden 684's which I picked up for $1.50 (Half off from $3).  But, by beat to hell, the lining is both cracked and worn away in some places revealing a layer of fabric between the cordovan and lining.  Never knew they did that.  I'm pretty sure Alden Restoration does not reline the toebox so these are going somewhere.  First pair of cordovan shoes I've ever had in the wild, too.  8th pair of Alden's at this point.

No too shabby.  Pics tomorrow, once everyone has lost interest and my battery (seriously) is fully charged.

Methought so! The subtlety of sarcasm in text makes it elusive. Still, pictures would be nice to document a haul of the sort (once that camera manages to take a charge). We like pictures... and shiny things!

So...nice lady next to me going through the shirts today. Buying the shirts for her husband but I thought at first she was flipping because she ended up with an armful. After talking to her, she was asking about the spread collars and why...I said well looks great with a tie....then she says he doesn't wear ties too often, so I continue to speak the merits of the shirts but continually trying to get her to change her mind. Then, she calls the hubby and I'm SOL. But she did leave a few behind. 2 Eton's, Etro, couple Robert Talbott's (one is marked a "limited edition"?) and a nice cotton Brioni.

Last few days have been all about outdoor/athletic gear for me (patagonia, north face, lulu) but was at the lunch time thrift and saw a CDG homme plus shirt...

pretty excited since it was first time in the wild but something seemed off...left it but want to make sure i made a good pass...i think they use an asterisk under the C and not a cross correct?

Fake right?

Same store had 3 Samuelsohn suits in 48L (2 x 2button single vent w/ pleats - 1 gray pinstripe, 1 staple navy; 1 x 2 button side vents w/ pleats - charcoal pinstripe). Sale this Friday taking them down to about $15-20 a piece if anyone wants a proxy.

I'm inclined to say fake if for no other reason than 16 in Euro sizing is 41, not 40. Not sure on the label, CDG has been around for quite a while so it could always be older. Did it feel like a decent shirt, or a piece of crap? And where was it made?

Since I haven't found anything in a long while, I spent the last two hours uploading my inventory into an excel spreadsheet. Do take a look. I don't want a divorce.

But I can proxy this, if anyone wants it:

I hear that. Sizing threw me off too cause i wear 16's and the 40 just didn't look right beside it. No other tag in the shirt. It was an average shirt from what I remember had some blanket stitching around the collar (somewhat visible in this pic) to give it a bit of funk which I expected from CDG but otherwise nothing too crazy.

Found this Marantz 2240B receiver today.

I paid far more than normal thrift store prices, but I'm really pleased with it.
The thrift stores around here send all their electronic to one electronics store, there they know their stuff, price it correctly, and even with that it goes fast.

Thanks.
Thinking of heading back for the EPI speakers that were with it.

I think it's considered a middling brand by audiophiles, but it's probably the best I'll be able to thrift.

I also have not found much the last few days despite going to a lot of stores. Picked up an Ermenegildo Zegna sweater and just a PRL shirt. Zegna is available.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
