Dear leftblankinc,
Questions:
- Approx. when was this suit made?
- Is it fused?
- What
country was the fabric woven in?
- Does the fit/cut lean towards slim or
traditional?
Please confirm jacket measurements:
- Lapel width
-
Collar height
- Half chest --- Make sure the jacket is buttoned up, 1st
button ONLY. Then, pinch the armpits and 'pull' outwards until the chest
button is taut but NOT loose/saggy/bursting...
- Half waist --- At about
20" down the jacket.
- Half girth
- Armhole --- Please measure carefully
as it is round...
- Shoulder (not yoke) --- Collar to shoulder seam ---
Flip the collar up to do this. Start measuring from the neck seam.
-
Jacket Length, upper --- Flip the collar up to do this.
- Jacket Length,
lower --- Start from the top of shoulder to bottom of the jacket.
- Sleeve
width, at bicep
- Sleeve width, at elbow
- Sleeve width, at hem
-
Sleeve, inseam length
- Bottom hem width
- Half back width
Thanks for
the assistance.
Regards,
"

That looks like the same message Brianpore (???) received and posted in the ebay thread. Check out the black list, that person may have made it.

This may not be the Lanvin you look for, but I thought it was sweet and it fits me.

Also, for the boot lovers, I found a pair of Lucchese black Italian kangaroo boots from the Lucchese 2000 collection. They look like they have barely been worn except for 10 minutes after I brought them home my son tried them on and promptly scuffed the toe. Now I need to take them in for repair.

If that level of detail was expected on all ebay suit sales, I would never ever try to flip one again.

Few things from today

Gucci black suit, tagged 48L center vent and flat front pants

NWT saks wool polo thingy. Tagged xxl

Charvet shirt 15 1/2. Pretty sure it's a tux shirt. The "bib" part has stud holes but below are three buttons. I have never seen anything like it before.

100% the same message. The "half girth" measurement request without explanation can only be explained by the same person hahaha.

Thanks, Spoo. I think I might have found my first Hermes that I will actually wear. And to think, it was at the bottom of this:

RE: the Charvet's button/stud holes- I've seen that on my US Navy formal uniform's tuxedo shirt- I've never understood why they would include that.  It's not as if I'd wear it without the studs.  Maybe its there in case you lose a stud mid-evening?

I have a Robert Talbott Protocol shirt that can be worn normal or with studs, but that shirt has a strip of fabric that holds the buttons or can be removed for formal wear.  That is a nice feature!

Nice finds by the way.

That is a removable throat latch. Check under the collar area for a button that it attaches to. The Gant is cool! Nice finds!

Define 'good'. Good for you to wear, or good to flip? If it's an old American-made Gant shirt in good condition, it'll probably be good to wear (collar looks a bit huge though). Probably won't flip for much though.

I just ignore people like that. Most of the time those the ones that complain

A throat latch. How cool.  I was more into Harris Tweeds and never had a throat latch before.

At least I learned something new and got a keeper for a jacket for me.

The Gant I will just see what it goes for on Ebay.
