Needless to say the thrift shop didn't have one of those machines that takes them off. It took me 40 minutes with a Leatherman to get the thing off.

LA thrifters, I'm about to blow up a spot, but I don't think it matters since today is it's last day of operation. Pour out your cheapest 40 for St. Joseph's on Lincoln in Santa Monica, original home of a bunch of great shit I found this year. I stopped by at lunch today and it was a depressing, threadbare mess. They're doing $20 to fill a plastic bag with as much as you can, but if any of you can find anything remaining of value I'll be very impressed.

So the question is, where are Santa Monica Catholics going to take their Burberrys when they get tired of them now? I've got some hunches.

Pendletons are about the best shirts ever, in my book...

I finally wore my 1960 vintage Board Shirt yesterday evening. Love it... It's going to take a few washings and airings out to get the slight wet wool smell out of it. I can probably wear the thing for a year and still sell it for what I can right now. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

It was a nice shirt to wear while watching the Ducks beat up on Kansas State last night at the bar with friends...

Hey thrifting gents of Toronto, for sudden reason I'll be in godless Toronto next week with a free day. I have a meeting in the morning in the downtown core and a free afternoon, and I'm wondering if it's worth my time to check out the Value Villages on Bloor St or on Rogers St? I don't have a car so it'll be a bitch to check out other areas.

BTW if any of you in TO wants some of the stuffs that I posted on Thrift trade, I'm more than willing to bring it along to save you the postage icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Fabric detail, sorta heathered(?) navy.

Pants and coat share these tags as well

Pants look strange from iphone hdr

Button fly mothafucka (missing lowest button, should be an easy fix, if even necessary).

There is one tiny snag/abrasion on the back of one sleeve that'll need a fix, but it's pretty small

Measures

Coat- P2P of 20.5, boc length 30, sleeve 22.25, shoulder to shoulder 18.

As for me, it's been seriously slim pickings around here. Tax season isn't showing it's face yet. However, the day redeemed itself at the last stop.

First stop. One tie and a couple DVD box sets.

Italo Ferretti tie. It's been raining these lately I think this makes the 7th one so far.

This is what made the day right here. All from the same donor/collection. I've been after a clean copy of Freak Out for years. Kinda sad Electric Mud has water damage but oh well, the vinyl is clean. Been after that one for a good while too. The rest are in perfect shape.

I picked up a PRL made in Italy, boys sz 18 I thought might fit the GF, too big for her/small for me - I guess around a 36. Anyone know if this is Corneliani? Dark blue flannel, I know it can be hard out there for me to find things, let alone a size or two smaller. Up for grabs before going to the bay.

Preview. Ahhhh, who am I kidding? Too lazy to post the haul. This is a personal grail for me. Blazer with Sulka brass buttons. Size 40. A bit too long but fits. Maybe I'll spend the $50 to get it shortened?
