What's the deal with the gold dot on the label? I found one the other day with the same dot. I had seen it before, and always thought it was a thrift store mark, but noticed it seems like it is actually stitched in.

I did. Was in the trenches for 8 hours. The Brionis and St.A's were proxy thrifted.

IIRC, Polo used to mark stuff sold at their outlet stores with the gold dot. However, I think this was at the time period when outlet stores still sold mainline pieces, rather than the diffusion/lower quality stuff most stores push out now. Could be wrong on the latter point.

This is correct. Certain stores still sell mainline pieces, though.
