^ That reminds me, my local Marshall's had a bunch of Pantharella for $10 a pair. Only a few types (mostly black, some with tan stripes some with brown and then others with colored toes/heels). Would've kopped at least a pair (there was a teal pair, large, for $8 I really liked), but the line was huge. Can proxy if interested tho.

If you're really desperate - you can get your tailor to re-cut the trousers to your waist.

main award (the one that everyone is voting on) is for one single item. haul of the year will be announced with the other honorable mentions (vintage item of the year, etc) on the 3rd. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Sweet orphan. A few suggestions as this is a keeper

1) Email rl_store (hes a forum member, dont remember ID though) and give him a heads up what your looking for to see if he can get it and/or keep an eye out for you. I've spoken to him before and a nice guy

2) Buy those and have them recut. Even if its $150 for the pants and $150 for the tailor thats $300 for a BAD ASS suit. Totally worth it IMO.

3) Who made the suit? Saint Andrews or someone else? If you have all the info off the tag contact the manufacture and see about getting a replacement pair of pants for the ones you "damaged". May set you back a few hundred but again worth it. You can also take it to a higher end department store that sells RLPL and inquire about a replacement pair of pants.

You obviously knew enough to take a picture of it so look for hand rolled edges and go from there.

Brian/All,

Do you Gents usually browse the women's section for squares? Maybe that's why I haven't any squares satisfied.gif

YUP. Take less then a minute to flip though womens scarf section. Thats actually the only place I've found pocket squares. Most people in a thrift dont know what cufflinks are when you ask let along a pocket square.

It's a quality suit so $40 is not out of the question for a flip. $100 EASY, but if your looking to max value, just take you're time and the right person will come along. Have seen them go super cheap if you just list it low and hope for the best. The purple pin isnt going to help but someone will want it.

Side Note - Hit up 2 CT Salvation Army Thrifts today and came away with a JPress Solid Navy 3/2 SC and a NWT pair of Bill's (first Bill's ever) icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

SIDE NOTE - When you're out thrifting the next week to so, check into the high end department stores. A lot of returns get put right back out at 50%+ off especially if they are not from that store. Being in NJ we dont get the "good" brands that I see at the departments stores in NYC, but they take returns. Picked up a Duchamp tie for $50 that is going on ebay tomorrow and should sell $100+ easy.
