I've only owned Sierra Designs stuff from the early to mid 90s. It was good as well. But not like it was before. My uncle had a Sierra Design bivi tent from the way early 80s (single wall GoreTex). That thing was amazing...

This one's good too. peepwall[1].gif

I usually try to avoid the thrifts on the weekend like the plague, especitally when they are having their 50% off Christmas sales. But I decided to brave it anyway and hit up one spot. Came away with a few things. Dooney & Burke purse for my wife.

I never pick up Stacy Adams, but when I do, they are vintage deadstock, made in the USA and $1.50 in my size. Whenever I go over to my parents with a nice pair of shoes on, my dad asks if they are Stacy Adams, and proceeds to tell me that everybody back in the day wore Stacy Adams and Weeguns. When I see him tomorrow, I can say that, yes, they are in fact Stacy Adams.

I picked this up because the leather was nice and I though it would be fun to try and rehab and it was only $2.

Love it, Spoo!

I've been staying with the in-laws out of state for the holidays. No time for thrifting unfortunately. I did get a chance to duck in to a TJ Maxx, though. Walked out with three cashmere Luciano Barbera knit ties, clearance priced. Left a Charvet and a fourth LB cashmere.

Interesting, although it is the older label, guess they had dead stock they never got rid of.

I'm glad you all liked the smoking jacket! ruben is the man for giving me the hookup.  I am very flattered; you know you're doing something right when both Spoo and eazye compliment your fit.  revolve.gif

Ray, your haul is of great calibre, to which one bows in respect.  Eazy, your fits are on-point as always, though I do miss the eerily precise gangster stare off to stage right.  Spoo, I love that jingle!  I think it's especially humorous when tripping up trying to align all the syllables to the rhythm.  Too funny.

On to my stuff.....

Bespoke jacket, half-lined and fully canvassed in the front only? Never seen this kind of construction before.
Arms should probably be slimmed, but otherwise a great fit, so keeping.

I went to Marshall's and picked up these wool Pantherella's in dark & medium grey.  Was going to make them available, but now I think I may give them a shot.  Hopefully I don't become addicted, though once I switched to high-end running socks I couldn't go back.

While at Marshall's I found an amazing black fitted parka from RLBL, fit me better than anything I've ever tried on, ever.  Too bad it was still $$$$

Anybody know Korean? I should ask my post-doc, but I feel a little silly -- I can imagine the look in his face...

The fabric actually feels kind of soft -- my guess is polyester or some synthetic, but it could also be a silk blend if it's not as terrible as the tag makes me believe.

WTF?? crackup[1].gif

FaceOfBoh, should I put this on that funny tag threat?
