I went to a Wal-Mart today and they had heaps of them. 40R, 40S, 42R, 42S, 44R and I think a 46R.

I'll make another trip for a surcharge of $15 to cover gas (it's 100 miles round trip). I can also send Priority Mail by Friday, which means you'd get it by Christmas. Private message me.

Thanks to Capnwes for the PS! Everything else is thrifted or bought here too.
Another one to follow on Saturday when I get my Secret Santa tweed back from the tailor.

Cool Fall look. Nicely done.

Suits are Polo by Corneliani. All are mint (could pass for unworn), side vented, 42 R/L and 95% wool, 5% cashmere. There were two more that I'm keeping that I dropped off at the tailor since I was in the area. A gray chalk stripe flannel and a gun club check three piece. These three are available.
If anyone wants anything, PM me asap as I leave town early tomorrow AM.

Great finds, Nat. Very interested to see pics of the gun club check three piece.

That is the perfect use of that PS. I like it.

OMG one of the best thrift days, evah. Among the pile, Incotex cords!!!! Are you kidding me? If you give me the unicorn pic, oh well, I wish I had time tonight to brag/post pics/all that stuff (although I am wondering if the lovely Isaia Napoli mint suit size IT64/drop 8L will have any takers...even Spoo says he hasn't ever seen one THAT big....any of you guys want pix or whatevah, PM me, I'll swap or sell for cost because it's a beautiful thing that should NOT go for cheap on eBay, it deserves a loving home).

Real reason I am poasting...discussion the other day between me and another local thrift denizen (friend, every bit the trad clothing diehard we are, would love to have him hang here but I haven't yet twisted his arm, he would LOVE you guys):
  • Him: I couldn't believe what happened at Savers the other day.
  • Me: Whut?
  • Him: I was competing with a family for a nice Zegna suit my size.
  • Me: Oh?
  • Him: Yeah. Perfect! It was new-ish, too, not the old 1980s crap.
  • Me: What was the deal?
  • Him: They were looking for a suit to bury some relative in. My logic was, they could have a perfectly decent looking Dior Monsieur or whatever, it's not like they needed it for the next 20 years, right?
  • Me: Word. That sucks.

Do you agree? Are we being a-holes about this? I know, ethical discussions bore some poasters but...this has been on my mind a few days and I wanted to put it to you guys for group moral judgment.

Well considering they aren't going to be getting its tailored.  Is a good suit going to look any better than a average suit?

Some stuff I found after work. I'm hoping the pants can be made to fit, although they're pleated. I'm going to work on the BB golden fleece, it has been starched to death and needs treatment around the french cuffs. It will be available if it cleans up (it has a stain, too). The rest are unavailable.

It was snowing here in Denver today, but that didn't stop me from stopping by a couple thrift stores, and boy am I glad I did.

First up is a modern 3 roll 2 button suit with flat front pants:

The deeeets (Click to show)

38" waist and 26" inseam, so that's, uhh weird. But it should flip well. There is plenty of extra fabric to lengthen those suckers.

A couple ties:

Are these worth anything? I thought it was a cool design. It's not made in the USA, which makes me think it's post-Gap.

A nice Pendleton shetland sweater that fits me really well:

Some Florsheim Imperial Longwings 11.5. They cleaned up really nice, I think:

A nice wool scarf for this snowy day:

And finally, an LL Bean jacket that fit my fat ass really well:

Full shots of those two, please.  That last pair is nasty.

The secret Thriftmas Santa thing rules. Count me in next year, whoever organizes it, whether I am active on the thread at that time or not. Watching the pix -- and the creativity it inspires with the giftee + current wardrobe + gift = way cooler stuff to see than, say WAYWRN

good job handsderhund

really good job

Kicked my holiday vacation off today with a solid round of thrifting. Nothing extraordinary, but a respectable day:

—Drake's 60% cashmere plaid scarf (a little beat up)
—three Oxxford SCs in my size, from three different stores (one recent, two vintage, including a cashmere)
—Zegna blue micro-houndstooth SC in my size
—Cantarelli for Faconnable tan glen plaid with blue windowpane SC
—AE burgundy perf cap toes, great shape
—nice-looking recent Canali tie
—Versace medusas tie

Saw a beautiful Samuelsohn for Faconnable plaid jacket that has some fatal stains on the lapel.

Oh, God Damnit! I am trying to be good for the freakin holidays and now you bust this crap in my size?
PM on its way.

I spent most of today taking nearly 1000 pictures. I intended to throw them around in here to brag about things that I haven't provided pics for, but that's just not going to happen. Because instead of getting myself organized and ahead of the game, I took the extra time and... well, what the eff do you all do when you have extra time? I hit the stores!
Two stores, to be exact.
Stuff from the first store is on the left and in the middle, stuff from the second is on the far right.
Uploaded by Photobucket Mobile for BlackBerry
Left column, top to bottom. Tyrwhitt slim fit non-iron, Tyrwhitt slim fit non iron (they're close enough to my size that I figured, wtf, even if they don't sell), my first experiment in Peter Millar (liked the colors; let's see if it sells), Faconnable USA Made
Middle left: Cantarelli branded (another instance of thread synergy) with LP wool/cashmere, charcoal herringbone, dual vent. Very natural shoulders that are, unfortunately, just a tad wide on me. REAL MOP BUTTONS! bounce2.gif
Middle right: PRL USA made navy blazer. One brass button missing on right sleeve, all 4 present on right. Single vent. 46L And a NWT Brooks Brothers Makers Linen/silk blend tie.
Far right column: Vtg Burberry's Gangnam Keaton style, Paul Stuart, T&A, Paul Smith x2. Progressively more recent, all 100% awesome.
(Not pictured: brick red with green micro flowers BB tie.)

And everything is 100% available. spam[1].gif
