There's a Daniel Cremieux jacket with Loro Piana fabric somewhere in town. I guess I'd better give it a second look.

Maybe more likely that they're all from the same maker and brands just throw their label in and call it a day?

hartmarx makes stuff for tonnnnnnns of different labels. if it has that curved stitching, i would guess it's hartmarx for ____.

of course, it could be that i am currently shoving my foot deeper into my sweet, pink mouth and will be proven horribly horribly wrong by mainy / someone else / simple observation. won't be the first time i'm proven wrong here in thriftville.

+1 I actually like the idea of using Michael Vick as an actual canine chew toy. Not too many people that are lower than a dog killer IMO. Something about killing an innocent animal or child that kind of bothers me. Wonder how a Michael Vick action figure sold as a dog chew toy would do? You may be on to something. Guess you could market it as an "MV" chew toy and give a portion of the profits to dog rescue charities.

either way, DC w/ LP 160s fabric is nice. but based on that pic (and without having seen the maker tag, a picture of which can easily prove me wrong and make you $5 richer), i think that particular jacket is hartmarx-made, not isaia.

Should have an applicable manufacturer label. . .  lurker[1].gif

Don't worry, that happens to everyone. Except Spoo.

also: update on the 2012 Cheapies:

lots of entries have been received, but there are tons of award-worthy finds that haven't been nominated yet. i seem to recall tons of LP, Cucinelli, Brioni, RLPL finds, none of which have been nominated. you can't win if you don't nominate, so get crackin dudes, before the nominations period* ends!!!

Click here to nominate your find(s).

*an arbitrary date which will be chosen by me based on a combination of impatience / being busy at work / being fed up with guys who didn't get off their butts.

I'm having more trouble than I thought catching up on posting my recent finds. Worse, i sent some to the tailors, so they're not available for photographing.
So one thing I promised Catside I would do is brag about the Barbera Sartoriale he turned me on to at a store we both know. Very nice pattern. higher priced, but worth it because it's St. Andrews and fits me like a glove. Downsides were: besom pockets and unvented. But it turns out, the vents were just sealed up. My gal can get them back again for just north of a Jackson. Besom pockets are here to stay unfortunately.
But all's not well that ends well: In giving the jacket to my tailor, she noticed two moth holes I'd missed. So I'll have to invest another $40 in reweaving to rehab the jacket. ffffuuuu.gif
Much much more than that. But no time. No time.

I actually think besom pockets look more elegant. If you got any 40s scs or tweeds or suits with besom pocket you don't fancy, I'm your man!

I found these bespoke shirts from Esmail Astanboos Shirt maker (of San Francisco). They may have been made for someone else, and have someone else's monogrammed initials; but they fit me very well. I left one behind that smelled smokey.

These are three of the four pairs of shoes that I've picked up at various local thrifts in the last few days (the other pair was a simple pair of Clarks casual shoes that are comfortable, but now seem underwhelming. Clockwise from lower left: Salvatore Ferragamo Studio, To Boot New York, Allen Edmonds. The TBNYs are the best fit of the three, but I really like them all. Now I just need to find some proper black shoes...

I'm new a thrifting and wanted to know if suits like this Givenchy are worth picking up for sale or trade.  I have had trouble finding out much information about the suit but its brown, two button, double vented, and roughly a 40L and 33 x 36.  Could anyone provide me with more information or a relative value?  Thank you for any insight.  Picture 3 shows the only blemish I could find, a 1 in fray on the inner liner on the right breast, the last is a fabric detail picture.

Guilty, Your Honor.

I was trying to pre-empt discussion that occurred last time about whether the property was abandoned.
