^^ Wait a minute: Isaia for Daniel Cremieux? Wow, I'll have to start taking a closer look at that stuff.

Hope you feel better soon, mainy.

TY! Yeah, it's really rare. Think they only made a few suits for them then realized nobody was buying them. AFAIK the retail was like $1495-2k which is insane for Dillards, a store that normally tops out at Hickey Freeman, lol.

Fuuuu... I saw a Daniel Cremieux Loro Piana for Dillard's this morning. But it was an orphan. Are all of those Isaia? Should I go back for it?

nope
the vast VAST majority of it is just hartmarx made in usa stuff, to like hart schaffner marx quality w/ nicer fabric

the only stuff that isaia made will say made in italy, and have the crazy loro piana fabric like super 160's, trust me you'd know it when you feel it

Thank goodness - that particular GW is a long haul from my place, didn't relish the idea of driving back out there tomorrow.

I don't have any more problem with this than I do a bar giving me a free drink. I guess there's the issue of the employee not having the company's permission, but otherwise, it's an agent of the company exercising the apparent authority to grant me the property gratis. I'm not in the habit of turning down a favor.

I'm having more trouble than I thought catching up on posting my recent finds. Worse, i sent some to the tailors, so they're not available for photographing.

So one thing I promised Catside I would do is brag about the Barbera Sartoriale he turned me on to at a store we both know. Very nice pattern. higher priced, but worth it because it's St. Andrews and fits me like a glove. Downsides were: besom pockets and unvented. But it turns out, the vents were just sealed up. My gal can get them back again for just north of a Jackson. Besom pockets are here to stay unfortunately.

But all's not well that ends well: In giving the jacket to my tailor, she noticed two moth holes I'd missed. So I'll have to invest another $40 in reweaving to rehab the jacket. ffffuuuu.gif

Much much more than that. But no time. No time.

Sartoriale is the top-end line. I don't think there is a bad one PZ but there is a lesser line with a white label that says Gruppo Forall.

yeahhhh buddy loro piana super 160's, isaia made.
[/SPOILER]

i don't doubt that isaia made stuff for daniel cremieux. but i will send you $5 paypal if that isn't a hartmarx jacket. can't imagine why isaia would go to the trouble of making the internal stitching look juuuuust like hartmarx internal stitching.

either way, DC w/ LP 160s fabric is nice. but based on that pic (and without having seen the maker tag, a picture of which can easily prove me wrong and make you $5 richer), i think that particular jacket is hartmarx-made, not isaia.

Nah it's made in italy and the RN number is for Dillards, has hartmarx ever made any suits in italy? All the Daniel cremieux non signature stuff i've seen has been a mix between jack victor made in canada stuff and hartmarx made in USA stuff. But yeah, it's not made to mainline Isaia standards, only half canvass, but nicer than say Polo Blue Label which is also half canvassed at least the Italian stuff made by corneliani is.

interesting. so either Hartmarx makes stuff in italy (seems unlikely) or Isaia makes stuff that looks just like hartmarx internal stitching (slightly less unlikely). need more clues dude! post a pic of the inside of the jacket.

On the topic of what Mexi posted above, I've been really curious. We've all seen the above lining/stitching style with the curved lines like that. Where did that start? There are so many lower-end makers using that same style, did they copy a high end brand that did that at some point? Or maybe it was a lower end brand that started that and they all followed? Maybe more likely that they're all from the same maker and brands just throw their label in and call it a day?
