The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Page 3813

Wow didn't even recognize the side profile of that Volvo... I loved the S60's my parents had for a while, and the T5's were a lot of fun even in stock form.

Got the Filson safari coat I found a week or two ago back from the cleaners. No more aromas of urine! On the downside, there was a little printed tag hanging from it that read: Special attention has been given to this garment but the spots or stains remaining cannot be removed without causing damage to the color or material. We call this to your attention so you may realize that it has not been overlooked. It's like icon_gu_b_slayer[1].giffor doing what you could, but ffffuuuu.gif, I paid almost as much for the special cleaning as I did for the jacket. Hopefully it'll break even on the bay.

Is Kanye wearing a leather kilt at the 12/12/12 concert?

Friendly advise :) If those pictures are going to be used for ebay or selling, spend the 2 minutes to steam the jackets first. Makes a HUGE difference.

EDIT - nice looking photos just for bragging :)

None of those pictures will ever see the light of day on eBay....more of a pulled these from the trunk of my car and had a few minutes to take some photos tonight.

What do you think of ironing a jacket - iron set on low heat? I have heard an old wives tale that steaming suits is bad juju for them. Not sure if I believe this since I usually hang em in the shower for a few minutes and do not notice any issues.

Use wet linen ironing cloth and you are fine.

Sick. Michael Jordan is moving nearby. Let's hope he's a generous person and gives his stuff to Goodwill a lot. thumbs-up.gif

Can't get pictures yet, but FISHY WENT THRIFTING :)

I found a pair of Brunello Cucinelli selvedge jeans in a well-washed color, size 31. The bottom has been stitched rolled up- is that a standard feature of construction or did somebody do that to them?

Anyways, they're awesomesauce. And available. Curse my 29 inch waist of n00bishness.
