I left a beautiful Phineas Cole blazer at the Jewish thrift at 13th or so and 5th ave in Brooklyn. Size 38L. Didn't feel like bringing it home to LA - luggage too full. It was like $18.

I'd like to extend a personal thanks to James S. A_____, who happens to be my exact shirt size (and I mean exact) and who also donated one dozen very nice looking and well maintained Ascot Chang shirts to a local thift. I am now set for shirts for a while. Mr. A_____, this post is dedicated to you.

p.s. Next time you donate clothing, you might want to remove any cleaners tags that include you full name. I'm tempted to call you directly (found you online!) to thank you and see what other clothes you don't want.

AE Canterburry in my size:

One of the items I passed on - Paul Stuart made in Italy, odd styling 4 button (was also priced at something around $40):

Today was a Brooks Brothers kind of day. I got up early and hit one store. First up, a LARGE vintage piece of Brooks Brothers luggage. This is the first piece of luggage I've seen by BB and I'm pretty certain the first posted on this thread. It's a little beat up, but I think it adds character. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I've been trying to refrain from buying things that are not my size, but these were too beautiful to leave behind. Vintage BB Brookstweed herringbone sport coats x 3, brown, greenish and gray. All are soft shouldered, 3 roll 2 with patch pockets. All a 42R ffffuuuu.gif and available.

Field and Stream belted safari jacket, keeping for myself. biggrin.gif

Pretty cool Gucci tie with what look like different jockey uniforms? N/A

Super recent BB field jacket with the Loro Piana Rain System, size M so probably available, though I might give it to my buddy for Christmas.

Yeah, I was in there about a month ago eyeing a LVC cardigan that was marked down to about $70. Didn't have any LVC denim, though. Just a couple pairs of chinos. Nice stuff, though!

I found a Zanella solid gray flannel suit, dual vent, pleated. I've thrift fitted it. But it was 54L EU, and I eventually realized it was too big for me. Soft and well made, though; went to a good home.
Edit: ANDRO: Wow. Just ... wow.
I'm on hiatus with the fam. And have sworn off buying new stuff until I unload some of that haul (yeah, right!)

Oh it happened.  Sorry i've been too exhausted to take too many pictures of it all.  But here are a few.

Barbour Classic Beaufort, this was my greatest find because I literally just bought this exact same coat new last week, same size, model and color.  I'm going to return my new still with tag on coat, $300 back in my pocket.

Next is the Brooks Brothers Jacket with quilted liner, this is a fantastic jacket size is XXL so too big for me unfortunately.   Probably going to put this one on the Bay.

Next is the Corneliani Jacket.  This one is also a great jacket but too big for me.  Anyone seen one of these before as I will probably put this one on the bay as well.  No clue how much it is worth though, it is a very nice heavy coat though.

Next up is the Lanvin loafers.  They don't seem like anything special to me, but Lanvin seems to go really high on Ebay, not sure that these would though, they don't seem very special to me, but I figured for $4.00 i couldn't leave them.

I'm too lazy to post the rest so here it is... Etro pants, AE shoes, Polo loafers, Pendleton shirts, Burberry, Zegna, etc.

I really think you should do that. It would be awkward, but might pay off.

I only found one thing today in three hours of thrifting, moving down 400 toward the city. But since I've found nothing in the past two weeks, I'll take it.

Unfortunately, it's way too big for me (23.5 p2p) and is missing the second button on the sleeve, and the third button on the front (which was in a pocket). But it is a spotless vintage Harris Tweed 3-2, so a larger trad might want it. There's no R on the union tag, so that means 49-62, and I've never seen an HT label like this (it obviously got messed up somehow). I also assume that Varsity Town Clothes in Winston Salem is long gone.

I've done this a few times before and it does pay off. Yes, creepy but the possible benefits outweigh getting hung up on. Usually I'll say they left a business card in their pocket. Makes it a little less creeper-ish. peepwall[1].gif

Anyone know anything about this line? I saw one last night and the quote is the only mention I could find on here.

Actually, I could send an email mentioning that I lived in Hong Kong from about 1998 through 2010 and ask if he has a history there, too, given all the Ascot Changs. Less awkward than making a phone call and having his wife tell me that he just died of some horrible undiagnosed disease he picked up in Wanchai.

Gotta think about this. The wife's happy with our thrifting excursions but this might bring it all to a halt.
