The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Page 3764

Well, after showing my wife the turntable, she said "mahhh, you aren't buying it, are you?!" Apparently she doesn't see the need for one. Anyway, I might just get it...it's something I've wanted smile.gif Thanks again for your help Nat, it's interesting that your grandfather had an electronics shop in Tokyo. What types of things does your uncle sell now??

Hit a store today and came up with....nothing. It's been a bit dry here, but I haven't had much time to get to the stores. I'm done in 12 days for a Christmas break, so hopefully I'll get some time in between moving. However, I do have a boatload of things coming here from you guys and eBay. I'll give proper thanks when everything arrives!

I won a pair of chocolate brown Incotex cords on eBay and they made it here remarkably fast from Canada (less than a week) $25 and they're a cotton/cashmere blend. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif They're going to the tailor first, but I'll have to show them off when I get them back.

I will get a fit pic, but a HUGE shout out to Wes for getting me a bridge coat. It was -9C this morning and this thing was perfect! The downside is that I sincerely think some of my neighborhood believes I'm in organized crime. Not joking.

Thought I'd add a picture of a beer that I've meant to try for awhile and now that I finally have, I can say that it's GREAT! Whiskey malt beer...they apparently import malt from the whiskey-making process to make the beer. Much better than it probably sounds. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Finally, saw a poster this afternoon. The Old School Basterds (sic) present the finest '50s Christmas music by Holy Sh*t. I might actually have to check this out this month. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Possible. There seemed to be a lot of Robert Talbot and Robert Talbot for Nordstrom ties that looked new, could have been from Nordstroms.

There was one other tie I picked up that had the tag removed, narrower 3¼" Italian silk. looked up the RN number and it was from a company based in Chicago.

Lol. No problem, but I had no choice but to send it to you. You got my wife hooked on what is possibly the best coffee in the world. Other than that cat shit stuff.

Haha, so we're all winners, right?? I also read about elephant dung coffee today. I haven't read this one, but I assume it's the same as the German one:

Actually I'm totally wrong, I did see that at MOA. I swear HarMar might have had one too but now I'm totally not sure.

Price is okay-ish...those are about $350-$400 retail, right?

Nothing in blue or any other size sadly, although there was a decent RLBL jacket in navy blue but not quilted I think retail said $595

That explains a lot here. Have recently for the first time in my thrift ing experience have been seeing a lot of BB w/cutout labels at local SA in cherry condition at least for thrifts. U know they're BB even without the label...we had an outlet open up 6 mo ago, wonder if any connection (SA does the central warehouse hub thing so who knows where their stock comes from...)

Thanks for the recommendations on those reweavers a few posts above. I will probably end up throwing some money at those guys in the near future I’m pretty sure. This thread is a great resource. Anyway, on to my finds:

For once, the stuff that fits me outnumbers stuff that doesn’t!

Need some help on these shoes. Can anyone id the maker? Excited about them because they have that handwritteny size stuff (see spoiler). They need some new soles, though. Also, my size so I may keep them.

Is that the Church's logo? below it says Made in England London New York Paris Custom Craft?

Burgundy saddles/unknown maker. What do you all think if I paint the midpart black? Is it easily doable? Is it a PITA? They fit so I’m keeping them regardless.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Old Versace shirt. Has a small tear along the side seam but I’m slimifying it so it can be fixed icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif N/A.

E Zegna button down. Wideish MOPs. I picked this up b/c these are good for trade bait, but when I got home and tried it on it fits! N/A.

NWT flat front J crew cords, 36x30. Color is a darker olive green. Available.

Ravazollo suit, 54L EU. Color is a smidgen lighter than charcoal. Pants are like a38W and inseam is plenty long like 33. Doesn’t fit, so reluctantly available.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Never seen this hidden pocket b4!

Plan to do an afterwork stop so maybe I can add to my haul this week nod[1].gif

Yes, they're the ones that make it look like "Made in England, London"...right?

^no worries. Now can you trade me that TB suit please?? Lol

This thread is sort of like a consignment thread so after running my small operation in LA a yr ago, I had to resource with other companies (I.e. Alexs) to help out with garments that needed to be fixed for maximum profit. Ill try to get the persons name I always go to. The women there are so sweet and helpful. They can even fix tie pulls too.

Cheers
