After our collar stay conversation, this plopped into my lap. The shirt is in awful shape (needs treatment badly) but it still had the collar stays. Worth it for the stays.

I ended up thrifting this evening about 30 minutes after our flight returned home.

HF 44R, Charcoal, 2 pleats:




Paul Stuart Navy, I believe it's a 44R. I passed on this at least 6 times but ran into the same ladies at the checkout an got a little discount:



Zegna 17.5/44 with a breast pocket and looks to be nearly NWOT:

Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to do any thrifting in DC and the surrounding area. There just wasn't enough time, and I would have had to buy luggage (or ship) anything I found larger than ties because we had no extra room. I did get a chance to wear a suit, which is a rare thing these days being that my office has universally adopted the shirt with no jacket look :/

1st Willis & Geiger and I'm floored - Weird size and sold for good $ in under 24 hours wtf.

 

These would prob fit but look pretty beat, no offense. (I also not a fan of tassels) I'm all for rehabbing thrift shoes, but once the inside leather starts breaking down it's going to be an issue, no?

To be honest, I think that may be the pictures. There is some discoloration from wear on the left shoe inside leather but that is it. Along the seam, it is just excess leather and is not breaking down at all.

Quite unfortunate for your user name.

Could be irony. Split the difference and call it unfortunate irony?

Busy weekend - it's hard to keep up with this thread so I'll post now and review this evening.

A neat no-name silk piece that I'll try to use as a PS. I have dreams of one day finding a Hermes or something.

A Jaeger cardigan with honking big MOP buttons for myself. I think it's NOS. The arms are still creased and it's got this weird extra button configuration.

I had high hopes in terms of my employers' sartorial sense when I created my name, although I have considered starting to introduce SC's into the mix at my current job and see if anyone else follows suit - but I doubt it'll ever happen. One guy I work with buys his shirts from JAB and then takes them to a tailor to have his initials sewn on the sleeve as if it were a custom shirt

Geez guys...this thread is adding like 150 posts a day. I can't keep up. Good stuff though! I'm in another city visiting I laws for Thanksgiving and plan to hit a couple circuits this week. Hope they pan out.
